We like to stay on property. I know that we can stay off site for cheaper, but, we like being on property.

So, when do you like to take your budget travel vacation? I know I can go over to Mousesavers and check out the cheapest room rates, I am just curious as to when you like to budget travel throughout the year.

One of my favorite budget trips (although not Disney) was a Carnival cruise that cost us under $600 total for a seven day cruise for three people. We crusied the third week of January. I don't have this luxury anymore now as I am teacher.

Holy Moly on that cruise price! Good Job!!

For us it has been September. We've been in the first week and the third week. It's value season, flights were dirt cheap and we got the regular dining plan for free.
With our family make up and the fact that we would have purchased the dining plan anyway it saved us a lot.

Same with us. September is nice. :thumbsup2
We homeschool, so we can take advantage of the cheapest time and air fares and we usually end up going toward the end of September and a wee bit of early October.

End of Sept Early oct for us! With free dining you can't beat that deal!

This next trip we will be going the last week of May (kids get out the 19th:scared1:). With the kids stay and play for free promo I couldn't pass it up. 1 adult 2 kids (5/8) We are staying 7 nights, 8 days at ASMo with tickets and dining for $1400. You can't beat that!!

Best weather was in late April (when Easter was earlier in the year). Best atmosphere was the first week in December. Lowest crowd level was the week following New Year's day but before the Walt Disney Marathon. All of those times were during what was considered to be value season.

Absolute best bargain trip was an internet error. 4 nights in a Saratoga Springs studio during value season. Regular dining plan. 2 adult 10 day hoppers (saved them for another trip). All for a total of $735. I dont think I'll ever see a bargain like that again.

I'm a teacher, also. Our best travel deals have been in the summer. Two times I have gotten codes for late June that were good. In the past 5 years we've been going in Mid to late Aug. Found good resort deals or free dining and good airfare. I watch these boards and orbitz like a hawk! We always travel due to a deal! And we've gone every year for 9 years (some times twice, once to DL) because of the deals!

We have been in: February (Pres. Week), April (usually the 3rd week), May (the first week), July (July 4th), August (last 2 weeks), November (T'giving), December (first week, and last two weeks.)

The best deals and smallest crowds by far are when we go in late August. I teach, so most of our vacations are during school breaks, with a few exceptions (May, Nov/Dec, and Dec) when I took time off for family reunions and weddings.

Early May was the absolute best weather by far. It was hot and sunny, but not summer hot. April, we've had wonderful weather, and freezing cold weather depending on the year. Feb. is hit or miss, and December is usually 60's ish--except this year it got all the way down to 28!

I so wish we could go in August, but, we are back in school normally by the second week of August, so it is a wash. I am so limited to school breaks. This past year we went in October for Fall Break, loved it! I would like to go in late May/early June, but, with the snow days that we just racked up, not sure that will now be feasible....:confused3
