When do you get your membership card when buying resale?

I purchased OKW resale and I was happy to see my membership packet arrive in the mail. It included the "New Member Handbook", but no membership card or number was included.

Anyone know how much longer I'll have to wait for my membership card/number?

Ours took a few weeks. You don't really need it. MS can give you the info over the phone. If you are going to WDW you can get a temp card from the DVC Preview Center.

Ours took a solid 6 weeks after closing (maybe even 7 or 8 weeks) to get here. When I was on with member services at about 6 weeks, I told them I hadn't received the cards and they suggested waiting one or two more weeks and then calling back if we still didn't receive them. Sure enough they came in roughly that time frame. It wasn't a rush for me as my first trip home will not be until 2008.

I too received the Welcome packet quickly.

The one thing you will need to call MS to get is your club ID and PIN for the website. With a resale, you won't get that. There is a separate one for each listed owner - so my hubby has his own and so do I. We just "activated" one for the member website to make life simpler.

SO, you can access the website without a membership card/number? That's really what I'd like to do now since I won't be booking for another month or so.

As soon as you are in the system, MS can give you the info needed to log on to the DVC Member website. Your records may not be updated yet but you can look around.
