I was trying to plan out our day and when we'll eat our big TS meal for the day, and it dawned on me that I should ask the DISers what they do and if they have any good advice.

All our past trips we've snacked in the morning, then left the park and ate our big TS meal at brunch time, then grabbed a snack or CS later in the evening and something small on the way back to the room after seeing the nighttime show at the park. But after years of eating breakfast at WDW, we've eaten almost everwhere. Sooo.....

On this trip I wanted to switch it up and try some dinners at the restaurants, especially being on the DDP where you can get an app and dessert that you can't get at breakfast. But how do you eat that food so late at night?

Do you schedule early dinner ressies, or wait til after the park closes? If so, what do you do for breakfast or lunch that day?

Do you schedule them at establishments open for lunch? (which from what I've seen on allears, it isn't many)

Please share your experiences.......

Dinner. And they're usually early but that is because I try to get to PI by 9. An advantage to that is that it seems to be easier to get an early seating.

DH and I always have our big TS meal at dinner time (aroung 6 pm). Dinner is usually our biggest meal at home so this works well for us. For breakfast, we eat CS at the resort and then for lunch, we eat CS in whichever pasrk we happen to be in at lunch time.

Usually a light bkfst in room....or walking through parks of....
Cheerios, cereal bar....from the room....

Lunch around 12....counter service...
Dinner around 7 table service....

We don't always go to the parks at night....
I usually use my snack credits for bottled water.

Dinner. But, that idea that you have is pretty cool. Maybe I will try it next year when we go, for a few days. I will see what the consensus is. Within our family.

So for us its usually a light snack in the room. I bring granola bars.
Lunch (CS) around 11-12. Dinner(TS) at 7-8, or later.

We have always eaten our bigger meal (TS) at lunch time, say around 2ish. This way I am walking off what I have eaten. Also, pennywise the same TS meal is sometimes a few dollars less than the same meal at dinner.

We try to schedule our dinners before 6 PM. After 8 PM works equally well for a friend of mine. Either way, getting ADRs well in advance is a very good idea. :)

It depends on the day, but I like to have a big breakfast. :)

We usually do two sit-down meals a day - a breakfast and a dinner. I usually eat a lot more at breakfast than dinner, but for some restaurants, I'll save up some appetite (or over-eat a little.) :)

I always try and get the earliest possible dinner time for my big meal of the day. That way I'm always seated almost immediatly, and the restaurant is never crowded.

our big TS is dinner - early dinner, though - 4ish (just like at home)

We do an early dinner TS, usually at around 5 or 6 PM. For lunch, we do counter service at a park, and for breakfast, we eat at the food court in our resort. I would definitely consider eating breakfast at a park if there were more options.

Since we are paying OOP, it is a bit more affordable to eat lunch at the TS restaurants, which is what we plan to do.

For us, we almost always use our TS for dinner. Once, we used it for lunch at Sci-Fi. We feel like we get more out of our dining plan when we use it for dinner.

We schedule our dinner ADRs between 6 and 8 typically.

For lunch, we usually do counter service; and we're not big breakfast eaters so we usually eat something in the hotel.

I like a late dinner. I find that the overly tired kids are most likely in bed then :)

Most days on the DDP, we skipped breakfast, had an early CS lunch at 11 or 11:30, and had a TS dinner usually between 4:30-6 pm. Mid day we would share a couple of snacks or slushes, and most nights we used the rest of the snack credits at our hotel before bed. (We are not early risers, so If you are up at 6 am I can understand that you may need the breakfast....not the case with us!)

The one character breakfast we had was late at 10am and we weren't hungry again for our CS dinner until about 7 that night.

This worked really well for us. We were always hungry for our meals and never paid OOP for any of them.
