I am going to plan a golf trip for my bother and I and I was wondering when the new dates for the golf membership come out? Or are they the same ever year. We can go almost anytime of the year. I don't really want to plan it for when its 89$ a round if we can go when its 35$ or even 50$ a round. For you golfers when is the best time to go weather wise. I played in Late July and WOW was it hot. I don't think I could have waited to start a round until 10:00 am in the middle of the summer. TIA:thumbsup2

I played in the middle of May,,,paid 35.00 per round..weather was perfect
Just played a couple of rounds in October for 50.00 and the weather was hot one day perfect the other,

We are thinking about maybe going in the end of Nov and just renting a ressie since I doubt anything is aval. I am going to call tomorrow. Other wise we can't really go until Sept 08. I have WAY TO MUCH stuff planned to go anywhere else. I think a little 4 night deal will be fun, play all four courses once then head home. :thumbsup2

The dates for the particular three pricing seasons are generally the same every year except that the start and end date for each one might move a tad (a day back or forward).

May through Sep is the cheapest at $35 after 10. During that time the cost of a round for anyone staying on site and playing after 10 is usually $45 at the Palm and Lake Buena Vista, and $55 at the Magnoilia and $55 or $60 at Osprey (Eagle Pines is closed). Those seemingly low regular prices are due to the summer "price slice" which lowers the higher morning rates at 10.

The October to mid-Jan $50 cost compares to regular rates for on-site guests that are usually $85 for Palm and LBV and $110 to $120 for Mag and Osprey.

The $89 after 10 peak season rate compares to reular on-site guest rates of $135 for Palm and Mag to $155 to $165 for Mag and Osprey.

It is generally hot after 10 during the $35 season. About mid October through mid-April are more comfortable. You can get some cold days Dec through Feb. November after the PGA tournament is one of the better times to play Palm and Magnolia because of the extra effort they put into getting those courses ready for the PGA event, although the courses are generally fine all year.

I just checked the Disney Golf site and the actual rates for October-January are $119.00 for Palm and LBV and $135.00 for Mag and Osprey. The peak season rates are $139.00 for LBV and Palm and $159.00 for Mag and Ospery. There are cheaper twilight rates after 2 during these months.

thanks for the great info, do I just call to get those Rates. Or can I find those online to look at?

I played two weeks ago on both the Mag and Osprey. Had a super time on both, but it was HOT! In the 90s with high humidity in October. With the golf membership you will be paying $50 from now until the 17th of January.

If you make your tee time on line, make sure you indicate you will be using a DVC Golf Membership. You can buy it when you play your first round. DW and I usually plan our Disney vacations so we can use our Golf Membership and our AP for two trips. The Gollf Membership we currently have has over 30 rounds on it between the trip we just finished and our trip last Dec. That saved us and our guests a pile of $

For DVC you can make tee times 90 days in advance except for the peak mid-Jan through Apr season for which you can make times 14 days in advance. You can actually do it on-line now at Disney's site (and you specify DVC and it gives you your price when you make the tee time) or call 407 WDW-GOLF (and specify you are a DVC member when getting tee time). What I have found is that you can generally get something close to what you want even with that 14 day call time during peak. Moreover, at other times, you can usually get exactly what you want by calling 60 days out. As you get closer to the time of playing, the weekend or holiday times get more difficult to get because local residents do play the courses. Note that they have a high preference for sending out foursomes and thus if you are less than four they automatically hook you up in the system with others to make four.

As to the DVC golf membership card, you buy it, $50 plus tax, as soon as you show up at a pro shop for your first DVC time. There is a nice trick to the golf card if you go the same time every year. It is good for a year plus days left in the month you buy it. For example, if you buy November 3, 2007, it will be good until Nov 30, 2008, because the end date for its use is always the last day of the month a year from the month in which you buy it.

Also be aware that if you are an AP holder, you can get 30% off the regular price for even those times before 10. Generally we are fine with the after ten except during those summer months when we have a tendency to go early in the morning and use the AP rate. With AP, you can make tee times up to 14 days out year round.

So from right now until Jan 17th its 50$ with DVC golf card and 135$ with a 30% discount for AP holders so about 95$ or so...?

The AP discount is based on the day golfer rate which is $10.00 higher than the resort guest rate, so the discount is based on $145.00 for Osprey and Mag or $102.00

Does anyone have an idea what the differences are between the Disney Annual Golf Membership and the Disney Vacation Club Membership? They looks the same.

We will be heading down in a couple of weeks, and I am planning on playing and renting clubs. Does anyone know if either of the golf memberships provide discounts on rentals?

According to the Disney Golf web site, the Disney Annual Golf Membership is for Florida residents and the DVC Membership is for DVC members.
I don't think there is any discount for rental clubs on either of the memberships
