When do the magic bands start working?

I feel like such a newbie but this is my first time with magic bands.

We want to start our day on Sunday before we are able to check in to ASMu.

I would love to avoid a quick run to ASMu before we go to MK.
So will our magic bands let us in to the park before we actually get our hotel room? I did do online check in.

Yes. Ours worked for the Magical Express at the airport. The only issue I believe would be if you did not have tickets or had an annual pass that needed to be activated. If you have tickets as part of a package (or they have been connected to your bands in My Disney Experience) you should have no problem going right into a park.

You can check in as soon as the hotel's computers roll over to the current day, which is at 6 am. Your room may not be ready, but you don't have to wait for the official check in time.

If you have a dining plan, you have to be checked in before it will work. Otherwise, you will be fine!

Just make sure you have chosen the earliest arrival time in your online check-in process.

Your tickets and Dining Plan will be activated at the time you designated. You do not have to go to the resort to check-in. Head directly to the park.
