When do points show up?

Im a current DVC owner who added on through resale. The new contract is showing up in my DVC account but currently with no points. The contract I purchased was fully loaded with 2018, 2019, 2020 points.

Now that the contract has shown up, do you know when the points will show up?

Thanks! I was surprised to see the contract pop up in my account though I don’t know what I thought would happen.
I’ve added on by resale once before and couldn’t remember this stage. I thought when the contract showed up it brought the points with it

It can be a pain waiting for points to show up if you are trying to make a reservation soon. Call member service and ask about the timing. They can give you a better estimate.

It's usually within 24-48 hours and can be even less. I don't think I've ever heard of it taking any longer than that once the account is set up.

The last two resale contracts that I purchased took over a week for points to be loaded once the contracts appeared in my account.

We just completed another resale. It took 6 days for the contract to show up in our account and the points were then in the account the next day.

My last one bought in January it was 10 days if I recall correctly. The whole process is much slower than it used to be 3+ years ago.

10 days between the contract being set up in your account and until the points were loaded? Times have changed. Some of the time it sounds like.

We bought a couple of resale contracts in late 2017 and the points were loaded almost immediately or within 24 hours tops. I wasn't checking hourly to see exactly when. That's the same as it was a decade earlier.

Last year, it was probably within 24 hours of the contract showing up on your DVC dashboard.

For some reason one department sets up your account and another department adds the points. I can imagine with the big rush of resales going to DVC they might be slower at getting things done, on the resale side that is. On the direct side it’s all done in an instant.

If it takes too long contact them. There was over a 2 wk lag in my add-on contract showing up and the points being added.

I eventually contacted MS & the resale broker. They never admitted to it, but someone forgot to load my points.

I’ve had it take as little as 24 hours and as long as a week between the contract showing up and the points being loaded. It’s hard to know with that kind of stuff. Like there’s have said, a lot of it depends on their backlog, how many people who work in the department are on vacation, etc.

I’m not sure how long the contract has been in my account since yesterday was my first time looking in weeks. But of course now I have to look everyday.

I think last time I added on by resale, I called MS and everything showed up simultaneously. I’m not in a specific rush this time and calling MS not that fun so I’ll just keep checking each day.
Will update when points arrive.
