When do I request a waitlist for the WL?

We've just made 11 month reservations for the BC, but would actually like to stay at the WL in late January, 2009. Does anyone know when we can ask member services to waitlist us? Can we do that now, or do we have to wait until the 7 month mark?

Also, anyone have a feeling for how difficult it might be to get a WL 2 bedroom in late January if we waitlist for it as soon as we can?

You first try to make the reservation at the 7-month point and THEN go on the wait list if they have nothing.
