When do I need to reserve for December 2008?

Hi Everyone!

I am currently in the beginning stages of planning a family trip (the four of us, my mom and dad, and my brother and SIL and their two kids) - so 10 total.

We are wanting to arrive December 27, 2008 and stay through New Year's Day at a moderate resort (any of them but Coronado would be fine).

Here's my question - When do I need to make the reservations for the resort - are we already in danger of having a hard time making reservations or would is be possible to wait until the first of the year? We usually go in the off season but my brother is a teacher so that isn't possible.

Any advice you can give would be great!!

That is such a popular time to go, I would go ahead and try to book now if at all possible. I booked my Dec 13-21 trip back in August when the packages first came out. There may not be alot of availability, but they will open more blocks of rooms as the year goes by, but I certainly wouldn't wait until the first of the year. I would prefer to have something avail, then to not have anything at all, which won't be the case this far out, but you never know.

I'm already booked for Dec 6 -- 14, 2008. I would book it, especially for the week you want, which is very popular. All you need to do is put down the deposit and it will at least hold something for you. It's better to have something than nothing at all.

I just finished booking mine yesterday for these dates!!!

We're now counting down the days to CSR!

Thanks for the replies - that's kind of what I thought. I went ahead and emailed and called my AAA agent this morning and she hasn't called me back yet. We are going to do just as you suggested Eponine1 - at least have the reservation and make the deposit. I don't foresee having to change anything so it shouldn't be a problem.
