We are fortunate enough to be in Orlando for Christmas 2010. We are going to fly down about the 19th and spend at least 4 days on site and at the parks. We then will leave and travel on to spend Christmas with family.

We want to stay at either Port Orleans or Caribbean Beach. I realize that the parks will likely be super busy.

When do I need to book our room?

I always book as soon as I know my dates. Provides most flexibility and choices.

You are going at a wonderful time of year-my personal favorite. It "shouldn't" get too crowded until the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Have fun!

:) ASAP. I have already booked our AKV rooms (of course with DVC that is a given at 11 months). If you know where you want to stay, I say go for it.:cloud9:

Thanks for the advice. Now I'm thinking because of the cost we should stay at a value resort. So I'll decide over the next few days and then book.

how old are your children? with only 4 days, you probably won't be spending many days at the resort. I , myself, am torn with my grnadson, the value resorts are much cheaper, but CBR has that new water fun area for little kids. it's REALLY cool! (but the food courts are much better at the value resorts.)
are you plannign on going to downtown disney?(lego land, dsney quest, TreX?) then port orlean would be good, with the boat ride. it depends on your kids ages.
for only 4 days, without any more info, I would suggest a value reort. they are really nice. (the pools do not have slides, but the food courts ,are reasonable) and you won't be spending THAT much time at the resort, anywayl

rethinking... christmas time....ther is SO much to see at the parks... save the money on the resort.. go value.. make SURE to go to Hollywood studios as early in your trip as possible to see the Osbourne family lights (before it gets too crowded) you will want to see all the christmas stuff, and not spend too much time at the resort.

Thanks. After sleeping on it I'm going to go with a value resort. It will be myself, DH and DD 17. I'm going to try and book today.

We've been fortunate enough to have this as our 3rd trip to Disneyworld with one trip to Disneyland in between so if it's crowded and we can't go on all the rides, so be it.

we didn't bother with the mickey's christmas party, since it's just us 2. but we stayed in the park and walked S l o w l yl out of it, so we could see the snow on main street, etc, as we left (before the party started, we didn't care about the christmas parade). but definitel go to MK on a night they have the castle lighting, when it suddenly gets covered with icicles... a sight to see! as I said, don't miss the osbourne lights. try to catch the candle light processinal at epcot, even if you just stand in the back.
If you have time, it's kinda fun to go to the grnad floridian aand see the life size gingerbreead house, the carousel and other decoratinos at beach club and boardwalk, the big tree at wilderness lodge.
some people (we didn't do this) tour fort wilderness, cause campers there decorated to the max!
see if you can catch smantha browns, christmas at disney on the travel channel have fun!!!

My dh and me are planning on going the last week of Nov and beginning of Dec. We have never been there at that time. I am so looking forward to doing all the extra Christmas things. Is the MVMMCP a lot like the Pirate/Princess after hours party that we did in the past? How expensive is it? Thanks for your help.
