When did your child reach a height of 44"?

My DH and I have tall children. Our youngest is 3 he was born at 33 weeks weighing 6 lbs 4oz and already he's 42" tall. Our middle child was born at 40 weeks weighing 11.5 when he was3 coming in at 44" and our DD 8.8 at 40 weeks was 40" at 3.

My 5 yr old barely made 40" cutoff in May 2005 -- but she has grown 5 1/2 inches since then!! So the little daredevil will finally be able to ride Space Mountain in December this yearly. We are hoping that DS3 (4 in November), who is 38 1/2 inches, will make the 40" cutoff in December

My DS5 was 43 3/4 inches at his 3rd birthday checkup. I remember because we went to Disney around the same time and he was just a little too short for the 44 inch rides.

My DD measured 44' exactly at her 6 year check-up. She is in the 25th percentile for height. For her 7 year check-up, she was 46". We went to WDW about a month later, and she was upset that she was too short for Primeaval Whirl.

Our next trip will be in 2007, and she will be a new 9 year old. By then, she should be able to ride whatever she wants- I hope!!

You can do a search online for child growth charts, and look up where she is now and follow the curve for age then, and that should give you a fairly good indication of how tall she should be.

My oldest (7) is 49.5 inches tall, my youngest is 3.5 years old and is MAYBE 37 inches tall. LOL We're hoping in one year he'll finally be 40 inches.

The 7 year old is 75% and the 3.5 year old is 5-10% on the charts. The 7 year old was able to ride Space Mountain when he was 5.5, but I think he was 46 inches (he rode everything but Rockin Rollercoaster that trip). This past time he LOOOOOVED Rockin Rollercoaster. :)

My 3 1/2 year old is nearly 44 inches now. His big brother didn't get there until about age 6. My first one was always in the 10th-25th percentile in height until about age 10, and now is 50th. My younger one has always been completely off the charts (upwards of 95th percentile) in height since about 3 months.

Edited to say: My first was always ready for rides long before he was tall enough. My little one, I think, will be tall enough long before he is really ready............. I don't plan to let him ride Tof T, Space Mountain or Dinosaur even though he'll be tall enough. Last Christmas, when he was 2 1/2, he was tall enough for Barnstormer, and I wouldn't let him go as he was just a baby..........not enough head control I thought for all that bouncing around!

DD was 7 last December and still only just 42'' :sad2:

She's desperate to go on the big coasters so guess I'm going to have to stretch her for our trip.................... :lmao:

DS was on the high side of 4 sometime. He had made 40" well before he turned 3, but he had a long wait for those extra 4 inches (actually the extra 8; it took him forever to get from 42" to 48".)

He will be 9 at the end of May, and he is currently a smidge over 53". He is just dying to get to that 54" mark so that he can finally ride *everything* at USIOA.

One of my gifts and talents... I grow tall kids:

DS7 - 52" (was 44" before he turned 4)
DD3 - 42" (will be 4 in one week)

I'm 6'7", so no surprise here.

We are not a very good example, (DH is 6'7"). However our DD was 44 inches when we went to WDW in May and she was 2 years and 10 months. She is currently 47 inches tall at 3 yrs and 7 months.

Because of this thread I just measured my 5yr 1month old daughter and she is a hair under 44".

My DS turned 6 in January and still isn't 44" tall (he's been following the 25% chart) - we go in May and I'm praying he is tall enough - not really a big deal if he isn't but he's only about 1/2 inch away. That being said, DD who is 4 1/2 is about 1/2 inch short of 40", so I'm more concerned about her reaching that height!

DS5 was 44" a few months after his 4th BD. No wonder he complained about growing pains so much!

My Youngest DS is small for his age, he will be 5 in July, and he is only 39", and only weighs 31 pounds. I'm hoping he is 40" by the time we go to Disney in August.

But he's already told me " It's okay if I'm not big enough to ride mommy, I will wait for you, so you can ride" HE's so sweet, But I seriously doubt he will have that kind of patience once we get there, lol.

DD is 4.5 and just hit the 40" mark. Unless she has a major growth spurt, I don't think she'll make it to 44 before our trip. And she is quite the little daredevil.

my dd just turned 4 in jan and was almost 43 inches tall,,so i would guess in another few months she'll hit that 44!!!

to me that is a loaded question!!! lol,,only because each kid is gonna hit that height at different ages!! all depending upon the parents and genetics

i say that because my 4yo dd is about the same height if just an inch shy from my girlfriends 7yo dd!!! 3 yr difference!!!

look at how fast your dd grows,,,she may surprise you and sprout before your trip!!!
