I would have to say Feb 1995. The first time I took DS7 and DD2 there for 2 days (1 - MK and 1 - Epcot). We were moving my sister and family back to NY. I said that there is no way I am going to the state of Florida without going to Disney. Since then I have been back 8 times. Took my now DH for his first trip in 2000. He fell in love with the place. In 2003 we celebrated our 2nd Anniversary down there without children. That's when we looked into DVC and bought. In 2004 we brought DS16, DD11, DDbestfriend, SIL, MIL, FIL (none of the in laws had ever been), had a really great time. DS went there on his senior class trip. We are all disneyholics!!!
We do plan on using out DVC points for other vacations when we get older!! But for now Disney is what we love.
I have to laugh at the people who say that "it's not for them anymore", and I have one question for you, why are you on this disboard then? (boy I can see some flames for that question) I mean this is all about Disney. And I firmly believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. And if I have hurt anyones feelings with my opinion then I am truly sorry.
And as of right now my second favorite vacations were to NYC and Washington DC. Great places with a lot of history.
