When Did WISHES Debut in Magic Kingdom?

My husband and I, who celebrated our honeymoon a year and a half ago at WDW, were having a fun debate today about when Magic Kingdom changed their fireworks show.

I say FITS was the fireworks show we saw back in December 2003. My husband is certain we saw WISHES.

Who's correct?

BYW, if I'm wrong, I'll never live it down! In our family I'm the Disney fanatic!
I'd think that if I saw WISHES that I would have remembered..

I know we saw Wishes in Oct.2003, but they still showed FITS for the MNSSHP. So if you went to the Christmas party and saw them perhaps they were FITS, otherwise it was Wishes.

We came down for a vacation in Oct. 2003 and the fireworks were Wishes.

There was a huge press event in October 2003. That's when Wishes premiered as well as a few other things, but I don't remember what. I think maybe Mickey's Philharmagic?

It was mid-October 2003. We went in early October and just missed it by about a week.

If it was December 2003 then you most likely saw WISHES. Sorry!

I just wanted to say that we were there in October 2003 and saw the very last showing of FITS. Then we extended our vacation by 1 day to see the first public showing of Wishes (they had a special one for the press the day before). We were also staying at the CR tower and were able to see the "practice" Wishes for several nights beforehand which was really cool!

WOW! I didn't realize that we were seeing a new show when we were at MK 11/13/03. It was our first time at WDW.

We were there Columbus day weekend 2003. Two nights were FITS.... and then there was a Special viewing of Wishes on the Saturday night..... I think it was one of the first few times they showed Wishes.

Unfortunatly, we missed it that night...... but not going to miss it one week from tonight!

The wishes press event was on Oct. 8, 2003, and the grand opening was on Oct. 9. Just to give you a comparison between wishes and FITS-- FITS had approx 241 pieces of pyro during the 12 minute show and wishes has approx 683 pieces during the same amount of time.

My wife and I were there for our 11th Aniversary and it was fantastic as it ahas been the three times we have seen it since.

cruiseonmagic, I thought FITS was a 7min 30sec show and Wishes was a 12min show.
