When did they add the giant Mickey hand/wand/Epcot sign to Spaceship Earth?

On that we agree. This board does tend toward the negative. There are a lot more people in car number 3 here (myself included) than in cars one and two. While there are a few people who take a more upbeat few on this board, there are not enough to present a balanced viewpoint.

Ironically, those of us who tend to be negative love the parks just as much as the those who are positive. Its just that we see (rightly or wrongly) something we love slowly slipping away and just cant remain quiet about it. I sometimes think the folks at WDI must get quite a laugh over how vehement we get regarding their creations.

There are some hopeful signs though: Mission Space looks like big improvement recent new attractions added to WDW. The new coaster at AK shows promise too.

It's entirely possible that a good number of people have reason to be negative. Anyway, as I must have said a dozen times, everyone is entitled to express their opinions, positive or negative. People are not always negative anyhow if you look around the different threads.

Personally, its one of the memories i have from my first disney trip. I did not know that they put that up, but when i entered the lot of epcot and saw it, i was in amazement. I see nothing wrong with it, it just gives the park more of a "colorful feeling". Then again, im a Disney newbie, and am going on my second trip to disney in two weeks.

I love the hand and wand on Spaceship Earth. I take pictures of it every time I am there. I also love the Sorcerers Hat at MGM. I like having an identifiable icon for each of the parks. They provide a great background for family pictures. Of course my favorite is Cinderella's Castle.
