In another thread, somebody wanted to do Animal Kingdom Lodge in a Land/Sea package. I gave out the standard answer that it was not available.
Another board member said they just booked a Land/Sea with AKL and even got Savannah view rooms.
I went to the DCL website and sure enough, AKL was included in the Deluxe resorts.
I know for a fact that this resort was not part of the package when you booked during 2003.
Does anyone have any details (especially the verterans)?
Its a great addition. I hope it is permanent.

They removed one of the other deluxe resorts last year (Boardwalk) and added the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I believe it was April of 2003 that they did this. And yes--it is a savannah view room when you book this.

:sunny: I booked mine in October of 2003 for August of 2004 and got the AKL with savanna.:boat:

I booked at the AKL for the June 6th Land/Sea, but we were given standard view rooms with a Category 5 booking. However, we were allowed to upgrade for an additional price. Someone on one of the boards had complained that they were told they could not upgrade even if they were willing to pay extra. We had no problem.

:sunny: We booked a Category 6 . The Savannah we have is with a standard room. Maybe that is what you have. I called back to confirm this. They do have deluxe rooms with the view of the Savannah.:boat:

Hmmmm....I am so new to this Disney cult, I don't know what I am doing. At this point, I have upgrade to the concierge level based on reading another thread in the resorts group. They convinced me that the food and beverages equals the cost of the upgrade. Plus it is the only way to get the sunrise safari and I really want to surprise my husband and boys with booking the safari.

:sunny: You will have to let me know how the Sunrise safari was. Maybe I will have to upgrade. I would love to do that to:boat:

We booked our cruise Feb 2003 for July 2004 and AKL was one of our choices for the Cat6 rooms.
