when did the tax for landing and taking off go up to $3

and how much will they tack on for security now....have heard it could be up to 10$ additional per ticket.....and u pay it even if u are just passing through an airport on a connecting flight and not using the "security" line.....looks like another "tax grab".....

maybe they should set up toll booths at the entrance to airports and charge a "per car" entrance fee.....or per person fee whether or not you are flying out.....

do not mind paying but lets be reasonable here.....

but then again, when were bureaucrats ever reasonable...

That $3 fee went into effect Jan 1 (up from $2.75). The new security tax is $2.50 per flight but a maximum of $5 per one way trip (thus if you switch flights one or more times it is $5 max); as a result you can pay up to $10 per round trip. Considering the woeful state of security that existed on Sep 11, what improvements already exist now, and improvements still to be made, I'll shell out the extra bucks without complaint to lower the risk of my becoming nevermore.
