When did Liberty Tree Tavern change??

I called today to confirm my online ADR' I had booked...(had internet issues during so needed to make sure they took) Anyway.....the CM told me that Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom is no longer a character meal?

Since when??
Why??




and let me say that stinks! My two kiddos loved it there. Two trips ago Goofy put my son in a chair and pushed him around the restaurant. It was a hoot!

Why?? Economy...that was one of many cutbacks implemented due to rotten economy. They also cut way back on Fantasmic showings, in case you weren't aware....

Personally, we wouldn't go back without the characters...meal was o.k....but the only thing that made it worth the $$$ (or the Table Service credit) was the characters. Without characters, it's just pre-made stauffers food...

Yeah...same here. The Characters are what made it worthwhile. My DS has food allergies, and Chef Rob there made him an INCREDIBLE meal ( DS said it was the best he'd EVER had) but the standard menu is ho-hum. We are doing Garden Grill in Epcot instead (similar food, but with characters) If I knew that Chef Rob was still there, and would be working when we will be there, I'd do LTT again, just for his wonderful creations, but since there is no way to know that, we are skipping it this trip.

People have been indicating reports that LTT will return to character dining during the Crystal Palace refurb. So if you will be there then, that may be your only option for the short term.
