When Did I get Voted Off of Skinny Island #2: Castaway's Land Ho!!!!

Good morning all! I am actually down 1 today! It's kind of surprising to me, since I baked this weekend and ate some of my goodies. it's reassuring that I can still enjoy things and do okay.

Where is everyone else?
jalferes - no don't let go!! Just plug away and move forward now! You can do it!!!

I'm here Sheree!! Great job on being down this week!! :thumbsup2

Down 0.9 this week which was pretty good considering it was only a five day week. November was not a good month for weight loss for me. I was up and down and only lost ONE new pound, so I'm hoping for a bit more success this month. :cool2:

Things otherwise were good. I lost an inch of my waist and my hips and I think one off of my bust too but when I did my measurements on Saturday I had on a padded bra so I have to redo that one with my "regular" bra sometime this week to be completely sure. The padded bra usually adds an inch though so I'm fairly certain that's accurate.

I had a really fun birthday!! Got tons of compliments and my mom even let me raid her wardrobe and steal 3 tops!! So things are going pretty well so far this week!

Although I'm friggin' frustrated with the switch to the new PointsPlus Plan on Weight Watchers. I'm not too happy that it changed today since my weigh-in day is Saturday. It couldn't switch everything over automatically and messed up my weekend tracking.

I used a lot of flex points on treats Saturday night because of my birthday and I don't remember I tracked them so I didn't have to remember them all. When the switch happened several of them disappeared so everything got all screwed up. Grrrr!! :headache:

I fixed it as best I could and now I'm ignoring it but I can't use any more flex points this week in case I forgot a few things. I don't want to come up short. I want a nice loss this week!! Hopefully that won't be much of a struggle. Although lately...the evening snacking has been a nearly nightly event. :rolleyes1

The plan itself seems like it's going to be fine...it's just the transition I'm not too crazy about. I have to relearn the points values for all my favourite foods and some of the things I liked because they were good, low point choices are completely out the window. Some things actually DOUBLED in points values. :scared1:

I agree with Barb that I too am finding that my exercise is earning me a few more points values that they used to :woohoo: but I went from 27 daily points to 33 daily points and man, do I need them!!

I've noticed that low carb stuff (eggs, nuts, meat) didn't really change at all but stuff like bread and potatoes really did. I think it's the carbs that make the difference. If you want to maximize your points and not starve to death, ya gotta eat tons of fruits and veggies, a fair amount of protein rich foods and keep the carbs on the light side. I can eat low carb...I don't LOVE it, but I can do it.

Anyway...I had a great week and I'm looking forward to yet another one. Oh and can I just say...only 26 days to Disney!! :woohoo::woohoo:

helllloooooo? hellloo heelllllloooooo

echo echo echo...:rotfl:

well, for the folks still playing, here to say it's the 8th already. Over a week of December done!

It's not too late to have a good run of it, and start off the new year without guilt. It's my plan and I've maintained my 12 lb weight loss since I started with y'all. Thanks for listening to me:hug: It's kept me going to read everyone's posts as well.

I know I am late but I was -1.3lbs this past week.:thumbsup2 Slowly but surely I am winning the race. Went shopping in the US this weekend cause i needed a dress for a Christmas party and some clothes for a cruise and I am down 3 sizes in total since I started. The weight may be slow to come off, but the inches are falling drastically. I bought a pair of jeans the end of October and they are already too big for me. In some cases I am almost down another 2 sizes from what I am wearing now. I am the lightest I have been in about 7 or 8 years.

Way to go Heather! :cheer2: :dance3:

It rocks, doesn't it? I haven't been this small in 10 years!! :woohoo::yay:

It seems surreal to think that I was wearing a size 20 in May and now I'm wearing a 14!! I should be in a 12 before Valentine's Day. Me!! A size 12!! That used to be my dream size...

Keep up the good work folks...I know this is a hard time of year...but even maintaining is great during the holiday season!! WE CAN DO IT!!

Hey guys!

I'm here, just busy as heck. The combination of learning the new WW points system and learning maintenance has been interesting, but I've been keeping my weight steady, so that's good. :thumbsup2 I think the new points system really is better because it takes more nutritional elements into consideration so once I learn it I think I'll like it.

Lots of birthdays around here - LOTS of them. Had mine over Thanksgiving and then my son's was Tuesday. The end result is lots of cake in the house from various parties. I'd like to say I've avoided it completely but I can't. :rolleyes1

So let's all keep up "one day at a time". Think of how great we'll all feel come January 1 and we just need to keep going, rather than play catch-up! :cool1:

Jan 1st will bring me an extra 5-10 pounds - I was almost there - 5lbs from goal of 150 - looks like I will be looking at 15 pounds to go after Jan 1st - not complaining !!!

Barb, Sheree...ya gotta stop me!!

I shopped again!!

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I only spent $30 today. I got three tops in large (which is a 10/12 at Ricki's) and I'm putting them in my stocking. I figure they won't fit properly until the new year anyway, so...why not?? I sure wasn't planning on loading my stocking with chocolate and candy like usual, so I was at a loss as to what to put in it.

You'll have to wait on pics of these though...I didn't try them on at all at the store so I'm not sure how soon it will be before I can properly fit into them.

So today's purchases were legit...but, yesterday...I spent $100 and I got three skirts (black, charcoal and grey) and a white vertical pinstripe fitted blouse (with a black belt)...all in size 14. They were for just because. And I've tried to feel guilty about it...but I don't!! :rolleyes1

Hubby LOVES the grey skirt. I'm going to wear it to church on Sunday since it's his birthday. I love it too...it's a very soft, comfortable stretchy material...can't wait!! Photos to come...gotta convince someone to be my photographer at some point...

Eight full days in and I'm doing great so far...hope you all are too!!

No way, I'm not gonna stop ya! :lmao: 3 shirts for $30 sounds like a great deal to me. As for the other stuff.... consider it an early Christmas present. Tis the season after all! :santa: (Have I mentioned that I'm a complete enabler? :rolleyes1)

Uh, yeah, I'm not going to help stop you either!

You have worked so hard, and most likely if you didn't buy new clothes, you'd look ridiculous in your old baggy stuff. So really, it's a NEED!
And what better Christmas presents than what you need?

My DH would love it if I wore a skirt for his birthday. I pretty much only wear them in the summer. It's too cold here - even with tights - to wear them much in winter. I'm practical that way. He thinks skirts are sexy. So really, I'd say you are doing your hubby a favor too! ;)
Nice b-day gift for him as well!

Had a rough eating day yesterday. Today is better. I had a donut earlier but I'm munching on veggies for lunch with my yogurt today.

This weekend might be tough. I'm gong to bake on Saturday and we're supposed to get a MAJOR blizzard. I'll be trapped inside with hundreds of cookies!!!!

The pics...as promised!

Here is the birthday outfit for DH.

Love how thin my legs look in this pic.

This skirt is lined so it's still a bit snug. Gotta wait a bit before wearing it in public.

And just to show you that I DO have a little slob in me...fresh from the shower and annoyed with DS's insistence that he get this outfit too!!

Julie - those outfits are great! You look smokin' hot!! Love the shoes too.
:cool1:
Where did you get the tops? That blue one is like something I've been looking for and the pinstripe is something I could wear to work!

Sheree,

The clothes are from my favourite clothing store in the world...Ricki's!!

Nearly my entire dressy wardrobe is from that store. it!!

Down 2.3 this week and can I just say, I've never been lower!!!!! I have now surpassed the total amount lost two years ago when I had a successful dieting stint so each and every pound I lose from now one will be a new one never lost before!!

:cool1::woohoo::yay::cheer2:

I changed my weigh ins to Saturdays so I waited all weekend long to report this!! I'm so totally excited!! I'm down 55.3 total now (49.3 on here) and creeping ever so close to ONEderland!! Another big exciting almost there thing is that I only weigh about 15 pounds more than DH now. Considering that at one time that number was 65...I'm beyond thrilled!

I'm hoping that I can lose five more pounds between now and January 1st...that's exactly three weeks from last Saturday's weigh in so it's possible in theory. The question is...can I stay away from the majority of the holiday goodies?? Only time will tell but as we are leaving for Disney on the 1st, I'm thinking that there's a good chance I can go the distance. One day at a time...right folks??

Sheree, how did you make out this weekend with the blizzard and the baked goods? I was thinking of you and sending you resistance vibes!! :thumbsup2

WTG Julie!!!

:cool1: :cool1:

I totally had a dream about you last night. You were making me watch you try on clothes that you dragged out of some suitcase you had in storage. Size 10s! And they fit!

:lmao:

We leave TOMORROW! I'm so ready/not ready. It's crazy. Excited but exhausted at the thought of everything I have to get done between now and then.

I started officially packing last night. I had been putting things aside for awhile but they are now actually in a suitcase. I have a billion lists I'm checking off. Have to take the dogs to a friend that's gonna watch them for me. DH's hours are so crazy that even though he's gonna be home, he wouldn't be home enough to take care of the dogs properly.

I have TWO appointments today... one with the endo and one with the dietitian. Should be fun!

Gotta run to Target at some time and pick up a few last minute items. I bought a new pair of maternity jeans last Friday. The only other pair I owned were 8 yrs old! :scared1: I wore them with both pregnancies prior to this one. I chickened out on the whole leggings with tennis shoes look so I decided I could use another pair of comfy jeans for the trip.
They fit well. Well enough I could probably get away with wearing them after the pregnancy! :thumbsup2

I hope everyone has a great week!! One day at a time! I'm kinda on the same mission with counting my carbs and cutting out all of my sugar. One meal at a time really.

I had a bit of a success this weekend though. I ate three coconut shrimp with a marmalade sauce (not exactly sugar free) on Friday at the outlet mall. Because I walked all over the place immediately after dinner, my blood sugar was still in range! :yay:

Made me happy! It means I can eat a few bites of something sweet while in Disney because of all the walking I'll be doing. It'll oxygenate my blood enough to give the insulin a better chance of breaking down the glucose! :woohoo:

Good luck everybody!! I'll check in after we get back in next Tuesday!

Take care!!

:grouphug:

hi everyone!

18 days left of December :)I'm still maintaing and happy about that :thumbsup2

have fun in WDW gelly!!!

Stayhomemom77 - you look great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I've come down with a cold and I'm trying VERY hard to continue on with business as usual but I'm finding it challenging.

First, I've had to scale back on the exercise because I just can't go all out!!

Second, I'm finding that I'm craving comfort food in part for the actual comfort and in part I think because my body has this pattern of upping the caloric intake whenever I am sick or tired.

So far, I've managed to do 40 minutes of my 54 minute workout (which I figure was not bad, considering) and I allowed myself to indulge in a low fat brownie from the fresh batch I made for the family today.

I've kept a tight rein on the eating in all other respects although it's been a bit of a struggle. I used up all of my flex points over Saturday and Sunday because of celebrating DH's bday. We had point heavy take out and also indulged in some evening treats.

I really don't want to go into a deficit with my activity points, just in case I find I'm unable to exercise properly for the remainder of the week and I end up coming up short.

Evening snacking always proves to be my Waterloo, so I'm hoping that if I come on here and put up this post, then I stand a good chance of resisting the temptation tonight when I am at my most vulnerable.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

fingers crossed stayhomemom...I have been having success with drinking H2O with a splash of orange juice in it when I get snacky, but not hungry for a meal. It really does work. I find once I start snacking, I can't stop, so I won't even recommend a few nuts or something:eek:.

Doing daily weigh-ins to stay on track. So far so good.

16 more days until New Year's Resolution Day - here's hoping to not beat myself up like every year:sad2: I think it can be done!

Keep on truckin' everyone :thumbsup2 (yes, I'm a child of the 70's:rotfl:)
