When Did/Do You Put Up Holiday Lights?

I was thinking of doing it today but, good grief, with no kids in the house and still 3 more weeks until Christmas, I think I'll wait another week.

I'm talking about outside and inside lights/decorations/the Tree, when does all your stuff go up?

In reality, the actual answer is: When DH gets around to it!

We usually do most of it the weekend after Thanksgiving. How much we do changes every year. Last year we were on a cruise from 12/18-12/28 so we didn't do much. This year we are home but not entertaining at all so we did a lot more but not everything. Years when we are home and having the family over for Christmas dinner we'll go more all out. It all depends.

Usually, I try to get the outside decorations up right after Thanksgiving. The weather is usually a bit warmer! And I'm going to finish my interior decorating today.

But there have been times when I haven't decorated at all!

The weekend after Thanksgiving is when we put everything up but the tree-we get a real one and wait a little longer for that.

I put mine up last Monday since the weather here was unusually warm. SOme years I wait and then end up puttingthem outside when the snow is falling!
Today it is snowing and boy am I glad I got them up when I did!

We wont do much at home since we will be at WDW over Christmas! Yipee! But there is a snowman potholder on the fridge!

Today I am going through my lights to decorate at FW though!

Outside lights depend on the weather. DH does that
He put most of them up last weekend. He is out of town this weekend, so the rest will go up next weekend.
Inside......decorations go up Dec. 1.
Tree first weekend....that is today!!

Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving. I like to jump right into the holiday season the minute Santa reaches the front door of Macy's at the end of the parade.

I always put up the Christmas Lights. My dh conveniently plans opening day of Hunting Season so he doesn't have to help me

I voted other because it takes us 2 weeks to put up outside and we light up Thanksgiving night. Inside is done around the 5th to the 10th.

Usually just after Thanksgiving but we're moving on Friday so we'll decorate afterwards.
