When can you start booking for July/August 2006?

My friend is planning on taking her 2nd trip to Disney next July or August and was wondering when she would be able to book. The website does not let you book for 2006 yet and she was wondering if any other place would let you.

You can start booking now, but you will end up putting a deposit down for the next season up and have to call reservations directly. That time you are going is value season, so you would put a deposit down for what 1 night stay would cost at regular season. Then when the rates come out this summer for 2006, it will get adjusted. This way if value season rate goes up, it is covered.

I remember on a trip in the early 90's, they were accepting reservations for 2000 new years. The only thing with booking so far out is that if/when the rates go up you need to cover the difference in the initial deposit. So if rates go up $10 you will get notified that you owe an additional $10 deposit.

I think what you said is about right except summer is NOT value season!!! I wish it were but after the holidays it is the 2nd busiest time of year.. We booked for this Aug in Jan 2005 and had no problem at all..in fact we changed our ressies 3x from csr-to akl standard to just recently savannah view and the cm said they were not yet booked solid!!! I heard starting in Sept. official 2006 rates will be up...but don't quote me on that!

I just tried to book for Nov 06 with CRO & after being put on hold for more then 2 songs, she confirmed with her supervisior that the furthest out they are booking right now is 500 days.

P.S. Am I the only one who kind of likes being put on Disney hold. It's just so cheerful.

If you try using the Sheraton website (for the Dolphin) or the Westin website (for the Swan) you can enter dates through Sept. 2006.

Just booked for POR June 16th of 2006. I could book a room only and will have to convert to package when prices are released later this summer.
