Ok being a on site first timer, i'm use to staying at Fairfield resorts where we can't check in till atleast 4pm, not cool!!! LOL so what time usally can i get into the disney resorts? it's POR if that matters! I'm trying to get a map figured out as to where we'll be staying on the drive down since i can't talk dh into drivng all night! LOL

Check-in time at the resorts is usually 3 p.m. Of course, if you get there early, and your room isn't ready, I'm pretty sure they will hold your bags, get you set up with your park tickets, and even issue you room keys (they'll give you a number to call to find out what specific room number you're in so you won't have to go back to the front desk again). You never know, sometimes, people get there in the morning and the room is already cleaned and prepared, but note that check out isn't until 11 am, either. A lot of it probably has to do with what season you are going in, too. Peak times like Christmas mean full hotels, whereas other times of year they may have more availability.

thanks so much, we have ADR that night but not till 6:45 but of course i'll need to make a grocery stop in there, too for milk and perishalbe items!

Bell services will hold your perishable items too -- in a fridge or freezer, whatever you need.

It's really just a cr@p shoot on when a room will be ready. We have arrived at 8 AM and been able to go straight to our room, and arrived at 4 PM and told they were running late and nothing was ready.

It's best to make a flexible plan that can deal with either possibility. For instance, if they are running late, if you have a change of clothes you can always shower at the pool.

Have a great trip!

Those offsite places and there set in stone check in times really are a PITA aren't they? One really bad thing about staying offsite.

Anyway - here's a suggestion for you. You will be driving so you can keep your luggage in the car until your room is ready. Check in whenever you get there. You'll get all your paperwork and room keys. If your room isn't ready, you'll be given a phone number to call after 3:00 to get your room number. So, you can plan on your room being available after 3:00. All you have to do once you have the room number is to go to your room. You do not have to go back to the front desk at all. Just make sure you have a resort map so you know where to go (they will probably tell you when you check in the general area of your room but NOT the actual room number). Once you have the room number, drive offsite and get your suplies. You will know for sure that your room is ready so nothing will spoil. You will have plenty of time to make your 6:45 reservation.

BTW - I have called before 3:00 and have been told the room is ready. You could try that but don't really count on it.

Both the last 2 times we have flown in at 9am and gotten to the resorts (POP and CBR) before noon and the room was ready both times.....of course it was January and May so we'll see when we go in March if it happens again....but it's great getting in early....plus there was choice of rooms early in the day.

I have checked in as early as 8 am and been able to get into my room. It doesn't always happen when I check in that early, but it has certainly been on more than one occasion.
