When camping do you sleep...

with sleeping bags or regular bedding? I grew up using sleeping bags in our pop-up and that's one of the things that made it feel like camping to me. DH prefers real bedding-fitted sheet, top sheet and blanket. We did start using real bedding when we lived in our camper during a renovation, but here we are, camping this week and we all have real bedding on the bunks. So I'm curious, what do you use?

We used sleeping bags when camping in the North (PA/NY/NJ) in our pop-up camper, because it gets colder there at night. But, we have used regular bedding when camping since moving to TX. We are NOT bringing sleeping bags to the Fort next month. We have air mattresses, sheets and a few blankets in case someone feels cold.

"Glamping" all the way for us. Real nice sheets, memory foam mattress topper and pillows, nice heavy comforter. I did enough "real" camping in the military. ;)

When we got our old popup back in 2004 we went to bedding (fitted sheets, sheets, blankets, and bed pillows) and didn't look back. I have spent HUNDREDS of nights camping outside or on the ground (or some combination) in sleeping bags and enjoyed getting out of them when I could.

I used the mummy style bag which was pretty confining so that may be a contributing factor.

When I was younger, we went camping with my parents in a Pop-up and we always used sleeping bags. We would also bring along some extra blankets just in case though.

Now that I am older, (and a family of my own) we have a TT that essentially has "Beds" and as such we use the linens that you typically associate with beds. I just don't see snuggling up to my DW in a Queen Bed with sleeping bags. (Although it could be fun :flower1:)

Like Maligator, I have spent a large number of nights in a sleeping bag. On the ground, in larger tent with a cot, on a pickup truck bed, in the passenger seat (or sometimes even driver seat) of a HMMWV (Hummer to you non-military folk :)) and just about anywhere else you can imagine one would sleep in, on or under a sleeping bag.

Unlike Maligator, I still don't mind them. I love camping and hiking. The DW, however is a Glamper all the way! :butterfly

I have sleeping bags for my boys, with extra blankets if needed. For my bed I have a full bed set with comforter, accent pillows, etc :D We tent camped, but this year I bought a pop up and plan to do the same! Won't lie though on one really cold night that I didn't prepare the electric blanket for before hand in the tent I was really jealous of my boys' toasty sleeping bags.

'Real' bedding for us - no sleeping bags, ever!! Makes me claustrophobic just thinking about it!! Anyway, I move around too much.

(And, a 'door' that locks!!) :)

We use real bedding. Our camper has a z-bed that folds down.

We do have a sleeping bag that we just bought for when it gets cold.

Real bedding here too. I don't like the polyester sleeping bags and the canvas ones are way too pricy and hot for Texas Weather.

Real bedding. DW only sleeps with a sheet all year round. She'd die in a sleeping bag. :)

I'm easy... I will sleep on whatever the DW wants. If she wanted sleeping bags... I'd be good with it. She currently wants (demands?) regular bedding. Multiple pillows and a warm comforter...

It's all good!

Since our MH a queen sized bed normal bedding it is. In the trips before DW announced we needed a coach to bring Furbabies with us camping was done only by me. DW is a Brooklyn girl so basic cable was roughing it.
I have done sleeping bags bed rolls and more times than I care to think out a poncho with a poncho liner.

The title of this thread does remind me of a little ditty we used to sing at Boy Scout camp.

We wear our cotton shorties in the summer when it's hot
And our woolen longies in the winter when it's not
And sometimes in the spring And sometimes in the Fall
With nothing on at all
That's the way we do it at WAUWAPEX

We are tent campers, but sleep on air mattresses. .We use sleeping bags if camping in the spring or fall (We camp in NJ and PA- nighttime temps can get into the 30's). I use a light blanket in the summer.

When we used to tent camp we would use sleeping bags. Now that we have a trailer we used sheets and real blankets. I like it much better, yep I am totally okay with being a glamper now, I paid my camping dues. :) .
