When at WDW, what do YOU consider a REASONABLE time in line for rides?

For us, we have never waited for most things over 15-20 min. We usually go in May and not only do we use fastpasses, we also park hop, do the nightly EMH, get to the parks before 11 a.m. (which is when the people usually start pouring in), and only watch nightly parades and fireworks once while there....

I still think you are a function of your date of visit and crowd levels then..

An expectation of less then 30 minutes max regardless of your strategy just isn't realistic in peak season... unless you don't plan on getting on everything.

Park hopping = at least 45 minute diversion (between walking to exit, parking, transit, and entering park)
Fastpass = at least 1hr per ride (fastpass times are almost always at least an hour out.. or waiting 2hr window till you can pick-up another)
EMH = get 2-3 rides in (except MK where rides are short)

I too went in May this year and was awestruck by the lack of crowds. It was awesome, and yes, the max wait we did was about 25 minutes with most 10 minutes or less. But it had most to do with the fact the parks were empty! The parking lots didn't even fill the first lots.. At blizzard beach I was in the SECOND row of cars.. etc

The last day was the weekend of memorial day and crowds had picked up. On that Saturday the kids really wanted to ride soarin' (for the 6th time) and the only way to do it was wait in line.. because fastpass window was already 3.5hrs in the future (past when we had to leave) and the ETA on standby was 70 minutes... and the wait was all of 70mins or more.

As I said before we go at peak times, this year Thanksgiving week and March Spring break. We don't wait longer than 20 minutes. We do use fast pass and get to the park early. During the march trip the only thing on our list we didn't do was Turtle Talk, just didn't get over there before the crowds. I think it is partly in expectations, we don't expect to wait. If we see a long line we just don't do it then, we'll come back later or just not do it.

The only things we wait for are shows and even then almost always do the later ones to eliminate the wait time. If you do the later Fantasmic or Spectro parade you have to get there about 30minutes or less ahead of show time.

For me personally the longest I will wait is 30 minutes to 45 minutes. spring '05 my DDs actually stood in line for 2 1/2 hrs for the rock and roller coaster. I couldn't believe it. The ride was over within minutes. :confused3

15 mins tops, but sometimes the 20 min wait is actually 10 min! :thumbsup2 Oh, and I didn't know Papa Deuce was NOT a WDW fan, but, I will still like him anyway. :teeth: I have met Robin, and KNOW she wasn't a WDW fan, but a fan of "the other" theme park. ;) In fact, it was on that trip that I realized I was a TRUE FAN of WDW! :thumbsup2 Thanks Robin! ;)

A 15-minute wait is my limit. Longer than that, I have the 'I'll get to it another time' philosophy.

Okay, there's way too many initials on this thread for me. EMH, TGM, FOTL, USf. I'm old. I have know idea what the heck they are. :confused3

If I want to ride something and the line is long i'll wait. I've waited almost two hours to ride those terrible rocket cars at DL, they were the last ride of the night. (and truthfully we didnt' know the line would be that long)
I don't say,"Hey everyone lets hop in line for buzz lightyear because it's 45 minutes long." If I can organize it so that there aren't any lines I will, but there are lines sometimes so we wait.

TYVM Pooh!
Actually I love a lot of things Disney, but for the most part I hate theme parks.... crowds, cost, time spent waiting. I like to be doing stuff, not standing in lines waiting to do stuff!

LOL, Faith, maybe you should thank Dan, since he was on the same trip! Yes, I am a USf, Universal Studios Fan, and that's where I go when I'm in Orlando. Last time I went since EVERYONE thinks you're going to WDW when you go to Orlando I just told people YES, Disney was fun...... why is it a prerequisite???

I'll be back the end of the month... nope, no plans to go to Disney. I did tell Michael that we WILL go one more time before he gives up going to Orlando with Mommy, but I don't know when...???? :p

I get extremely frustrated if I have to wait more than 15 - 20 minutes. I guess that is one reason I am not really a fan of WDW, or most big theme parks.

I'm a HUGE fan of WDW, but I am so used to going during off season that 15-20 minutes is my limit also.

Hopefully he will never NOT want to go! ;) So, you will be there at the end of June? How neat! Ride the Dueling Dragons for me, OK? ;)

I hadn't been to Universal in years (maybe 98?) until last December. My first trip to Universal was in CA in '77, and it was pitiful.

I had heard that the new park was all thrill rides so wasn't particularly interested. I went last December with a friend. She got tired and wanted to stop (and smoke) at rest area so I went by myself. I loved it and will definitely go back.

It depends on the ride and the time of year. For instance if we go in the summer months or during a busy holiday period, we know the lines will be longer. We usually plan to wait about 45 minutes then.

Other times of year, we'll wait no more than 15 minutes for some rides, while others we'll wait up to a half hour. We've been known to wait up to an hour for favorite rides, but that rarely happens unless Fastpass is closed.

My DH hates that "kind of stuff" too. LOVES Antiques and flea Markets though. :confused3 He "might" go with me in Dec. and I hope its not too crowded. :rolleyes1

I hate waiting in lines, that's why my favorite ride is El Rio Del Tiempo. :thumbsup2

Ok seriously my favorite ride really is El Rio Del Tiempo. I don't expect anyone to understand why, it's ok. No one does, not even my own mother. :sad2: :)

I refuse to wait more than 15 minutes. I don't really like rides that much and my favorite rides are the cheesy ones. So since my favorite rides are the corny ones, I only have to wait at the most 15 minutes.
