when are the characters in toontown??

we always seem to miss them. I think I have heard if you take the train over in the AM - they are there, but always I like the idea of the train but when does it leave the station in the AM and I hate to miss the walk down mainstreet in the AM - even on our second MK day if there aren't any characters there.

The characters do not usually start appearing at Toontown until 10am. They appear for a little while outside and then go inside to the Judge's Tent (behind Mickey's House) and Hall fo Fame (inside the Country Bounty shop) where they do meet-and-greets throughout the day.

Yes, Meeko 33785 is correct. The characters are there throughout the day. If you go into Mickey's house, there is a line and Mickey is the only character in there. The line moves fairly well. They let a small group at a time into a room for photos and autographs...(but shhhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell the children there are a few rooms )
If you go into the big top, through the store, there are 3 lines with different groups of characters, and again they let a small group in at a time. One line is for classic characters, 3 in a room and they change who they are throughout the day (i.e. Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, Chip, Dale, etc), there is usually a line for princesses, and one that I've seen change between villains and pooh characters. Toontown opens at 10:00.
