March 31- April 8: Don't miss Fashion Week, March 31-April 8, 2017! The inaugural Chamber Fashion Week event, presented by the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, will kick-off at Friday, March 31 at Shelter Cove Harbor with Shop on the Dock, which will feature pop-up shops with local retailers, entertainment, signature Chamber Fashion Week cocktail, and the evening will be capped with a sunset toast to Chamber Fashion Week. For the following week, a slew of Hilton Head Island and Bluffton retailers will offer special events and discounts to celebrate the fashion of our coastal lifestyle. April 1: Don't miss the Italian-American Club of Hilton Head Island Bocce Tournament on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Shelter Cove Community Park. The Italian-American Bocce Tournament is one of the highlight events of our club and we want your team to join in the fun! Our bocce tournament precedes the annual Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival, kicking off the day of festivities at Shelter Cove Community Park. For more information, go to iachh.org.

April 1: Please join the Sea Pines Forest Preserve Foundation for from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 for Party in the Pines, a spring fundraising event that includes a picnic-themed menu, live music, and fun for the whole family. Proceeds benefit the capital replacement projects in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. Tickets are $40. Contact Community Services Associates at (843) 671-134.

April 1: Mitchelville Preservation Project will debut their signature dinner and dance, Blues and BBQ, featuring Deas Guyz, on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the The NEW Northridge Club, located at 435 William Hilton Pkwy., from 5-9 p.m. The event features a slow-cooked BBQ dinner paired with handcrafted desserts, prepared with traditional Lowcountry recipes prepared by Ruby Lee's. A cash bar will be available for beer, wine and spirits. Mitchelville's Blues and BBQ is a signature event and fundraiser for the Mitchelville Preservation Project. Proceeds from this event will support research and educational programs that provide deeper knowledge of the people that inhabited Mitchelville. Individual tickets start at $65. April 3 - 14: Head over to the Sea Pines Beach Club on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through April 14, 2017 from noon-2 p.m. to enjoy a variety of craft activities at the Sea Pines Beach Club. The activities will be for both children and adults. April 3 - 12: Over the years, Gregg Russell has become a Sea Pines classic. From April 3-7 and 10-12, 2017, under the Liberty Oak in Harbour Town you'll find Gregg Russell entertaining adults and children alike. His concerts are not to be missed. Shows are free but there is an entrance fee to get into The Sea Pines Resort. April 5 & 12: The Coastal Discovery Museum has announced a unique opportunity for this spring with a Dolphin Research Excursion on the May River. The cruise will be offered most Wednesdays in April from 10 a.m.-noon. The excursion will study acoustic communications between resident dolphins in the May River. While researchers from Dr. Eric Montie's Lab at the University of South Carolina Beaufort visually identify and record dolphin vocalizations, marine biologist Captain Amber Kuehn will share what we have learned about these fascinating cetaceans. The research goals are to determine abundance, location, and individual identification of dolphins in the vicinity of Montie's acoustic recorders that are deployed at three stations in the May River. Dolphins are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act (1972). Dr. Montie has a permit from the National Marine Fisheries Service, NOAA, and United States Department of Commerce to perform this research with bottlenose dolphins in the May River. The cost for the Dolphin Research Excursion is $55 per person (ages 10 and older only, please) and reservations are required by calling (843) 689-6767 ext. 223 or online at coastaldiscovery.org.

April 5: The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn will host Al Segars, a veterinarian from South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, for the Manatees in South Carolina program on April 5, 2017 at 3 p.m. Find out when and where these animals visit our coastal waters. What is our impact on these marvelous animals? Are there laws restricting how we interact with them? Learn this and much more about these summertime visitors from Al Segars. $7 per person donation requested and reservations are required by calling (843) 689-6767 ext. 223. The museum is located at 70 Honey Horn Dr., with a temporary entrance on 278 eastbound between Spanish Wells Road and Gumtree Road. April 5 & 12: Enjoy a fun night playing games and floating on a tube at the Harbour Town Pool while watching a movie and eating pizza with your family at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through April 12, 2017. The pool will be heated. Cost is $17 for adults and $14 for children (ages 12 and under). April 6: Join us for the annual Plaid ParTee on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Rooftop Bar at Poseidon as we kick-off the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing on National Tartan Day, toast to the hard work of the Heritage Classic Foundation, and get a look at spring style with models from Chamber Fashion Week participants. Enjoy complimentary drinks by Tito's Vodka and Sea Glass Wines, hors d'oeuvres and entertainment. $10 for members in advance, $15 at the door, and $20 for future members in advance, $25 at the door.

April 6 onward: Music & Taste on the Harbour returns to Shelter Cove Harbour on March 30, 2017! Join us each Thursday through May 18, 2017 and dance the night away while enjoying live music performances and great food at Music & Taste on the Harbour, an outdoor concert and dining series. Shelter Cove Harbour restaurants will offer specially-priced light appetizers, wine, beer and cocktails. Music & Taste on the Harbour is from 6-9 p.m. each Thursday during the spring, weather permitting. No coolers or outside food are allowed, and limited seating is available so you are encouraged to bring your own chairs. Free admission.

April 8: Don't miss the EASTER EGGstravaganza on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Shelter Cove Community Park, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Featuring one of the very BEST EASTER EGG HUNTS on Hilton Head, the EASTER EGGstravaganza is the perfect reason to get outdoors with your family this spring! April 8: Don't miss the 10,000 Egg Hunt: Shipwrecked Edition on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from noon-3 p.m. at Jarvis Creek Park. The second annual hunt is hosted by Grace Community Church! You don't want to miss it! There will be burgers and hot dogs and candy and over 10,000 (yes, 10,000) EASTER EGGS! Best of all, everything is free! April 21: The public is invited to Hilton Head Island's Relay for Life at Shelter Cove Community Park on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 4-10 p.m. The theme for this year's event is "Paint the Lowcountry Purple!" At this celebration to benefit the American Cancer Society, there will be a cancer survivor's dinner, a luminaria ceremony, a cancer survivors' and caregivers' walk, games and activities for kids and adults, food, entertainment and a huge silent auction. Please join us and bring a friend. It's free and we welcome the entire community to join us in honoring survivors, remembering those those who lost their fight, and recognizing those currently battling cancer. April 23: Don't miss the First Tee of the Lowcountry Grand Opening on clock Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. This brand new, 16 acre facility on Gum Tree Road is complete with a six-hole par 3 short golf course (perfect for beginning golfers and senior golfers), two driving ranges, a nine-hole disc golf course, a one-acre fishing pond and two playgrounds for the kids!
National Touring Artists Cranford Hollow will be on the main stage, emcee is Monty Jett, golf demos, fishing fun for the kids and disc-golf demos will round out the day. April 26 - May 21: The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina will present the feel-amazing musical comedy smash hit, "Sister Act," which the "New York Post" calls "ridiculously fun" from April 26-May 21, 2017, at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays-Saturdays (with matinees on select Sundays). Featuring original music by Tony and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, "Sister Act" tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe Las Vegas diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look-a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, Sister Act is reason to rejoice! Single tickets not yet on sale. April 27 onward: Fire'em up and cruise in from 5-8 p.m. at the Shelter Cove Towne Centre every fourth Thursday of the month. This classic car show takes place on Shelter Cove Lane waterside overlooking Broad Creek. No costs, no reservations. There will be awards and a 50/50 raffle. This event is open to all automotive enthusiasts, locals and visitors. Plenty of shopping and dining within a one-two block walk.

April 29: Don't miss The Roaring '20s Gala Dinner, Dance and Auction for SFCS on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 6-11 p.m. at the Sonesta Resort. To help continue St. Francis Catholic School's rich tradition of community, we hope you will consider attending their "Roaring '20s Gala." This is our main fundraiser for the school year. Last year, the gala raised over $73,000. Every dollar raised was channeled back into the school to continue to enhance the overall experience at St. Francis Catholic School. Please join friends, fellow parents and parishioners for a "Roaring '20s Gala" in celebration of their 20th Anniversary at the Sonesta Resort on Saturday with entertainment by the Ross Brown Band. April 29-30: The Art Market at Historic Honey Horn, a juried fine art and craft festival will be held Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30, 2017. The event will host 90 accomplished artists from the region and from across the country who will bring their best work to compete for $5,000 in prize money. Artists were juried into this show to provide a wide variety of fine art, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, wood, and fiber arts. Rain or shine, the outdoor show is open to the public on Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. There is a $3 per person admission charge. Demonstrations will be held throughout the weekend. Food, beverages, ice cream and Italian ices will be available from Jack Frost.
