Are there wheelchairs available at the Polynesian for guests to use? We are considering staying there instead of the Contemporary but have an older guest traveling with us that is not able to walk to far. We wanted a theme park view and were worried that it would be far from both the monorail and the transportation and ticket center if we decided to catch the Epcot monorail from there.

They probably have a few, but they are first come, first serve. If you need one at the resort, you would be better to rent one from one of the outside vendors.

If you go to the disAbilities forum you will find ample info regarding rentin wheelchairs from offsite agencies. They tend to be in better condition, and they will have one waiting for you when you arrive. And they'll pick it up after you leave.

The few wheelchairs a resort may have, are really for people who injure themselves down there and find they need one unexpectedly. They are frequently old and worn out and as a PP said are first come, first served. If they are even available they may or may not be the right size and may or may not even have foot rest. Their recommendation is that if you know a member of your party is going to need one, to rent one from offsite. We've rented ECVs from Walkers Mobility and also Apple Scooters and highly recommend both. Both also carry wheelchairs.
