wheelchair seating alternative in shows?

part of the reason i want a chair in disney is that I cannot sit on backless/hard benches. I know that no one is comfortable on them, but i will sublux my hips/lower vertebrae and lose the ability to walk much. (I can't walk much anyway)... i was wondering if anyone had tried these:

I can hang it off the back of my chair, and use this to sit in a regular seat at a show like beauty and the beast or fantasmic. i dont want to take a wc/ecv spot if i dont have to. i can walk down a few stairs with my cane to a better seat at fantasmic, and then use this "stadium seat" to help me stay upright.

what do people think of that?


OOh! I also jsut thought of something else! They can be "seat covers" for people renting ECVs and wheelchairs. the seats of the rentals are vinyl and not always well padded - this would give youy the option of more padding and a surface that is cooler.

also, it would allow you to personalize it! (i have images of mickey on the seat)

We have some of these my oldest swims on her high school swim team and all the seating for swim is bench with no back so they work great. You should be able to get them cheaper at Walmart.

Most of the shows that have bench seats are pretty long shows, so even if it takes you a few minutes to get it out, you would have time. Most of those shows don't empty out very quickly either, so you would have time to pack it up too.

I think it's a good idea, but will anyone 'official' (i.e. a CM) give her a hard time about it? I'm NOT saying don't use it! I'm just thinking about that other recent post where a CM told a Guest to use the cane/chair only as a cane.

I was going to suggest she 'sit' on it while going thru security.

if it is on the back of my chair in the backpack or even under my butt, i dont think they will give me a problem. after all, it is not one with legs i will set up for a parade, but one that sits on the ground/bench. i'll make it work...
