I am trying to plan a trip with my husbands Aunt who is overweight and I don't think would beable to walk around the parks. Has anyone rented a wheelchair? Who did you rent from and what were the rates and deposit? Thanks any help would be appreciated. Also can I rent in the park or borrow one in the park? What have others in this situation done?

I just so happened to need a wheelchair rental for my mom in law for our January trip. Since I always stay at CCI, I asked the front dest to recommend a company they knew of to rent a wheelchair. They gave me the name of Deckert Surgical....they're out of Santa Ana. They will drop off and pick up from your hotel...rates are $30 for 1-3 days, and $50 for 4-7 days with a refundable $50 deposit. I talked with Jessica, and she was very nice and informative. The telephone number is (714) 542-5607. All they need is a credit card #, phone numbers, and dates you'll need the wheelchair. Since I haven't actually rented from them before, I can't say what their service is like, but it's been good so far ;) They also rent scooters. Hope this helps you a little. Good luck.

Thank you so much for this information. Do you know if they will let us rent a scooter if she has never driven one before? Thanks again :goodvibes

Hmm...not sure. I knew I'd only be needing the wheelchair info so I didn't ask for details regarding the scooters. Sorry.

Hi there!

We usually recommend Universal Medical [www.uni-medical.com]. I just called and spoke with someone there who told me that for a week, a wheelchair rental would be $65 with no deposit required, and that they can drop off/pick up the wheelchair at the hotel that you're staying at.

In case you'd like their phone number, it's 714-731-7777

Hope this helps!
