Hi everyone. Well, I have been to Disneyland countless times. The one thing I have never done is gone with someone in a wheelchair. I just got a bad gout attack and told my kids the only way I can go is if I get a wheelchair and they push me. We have a group of 11 going. Do I need to get a DAS? Do I need to get anything since I will be in a wheelchair? Is 11 too many people? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to figure it out. Thank you

If you only have mobility problems you can’t get das. Most of the lines can accommodate wheel chairs. The ones that don’t will accommodate you in other ways such as going in the exit.
Have you considered an ecv(scooter)? You would have independence and no one would need to push.
11 in a group is ok. In some cases such as dining ADRS you may have to split into smaller groups.

Since it sounds like what you have is mobility related, you won't need or receive a DAS. What you can do is use the wheelchair return times at the rides that are not accessible. Ask the CMs at the ride entrance if the line is accessible. If it is not, you can go to the exit of the ride to ask the CM there about getting a return time. This will be in DL, for example in FL . In DCA, most/all the lines are accessible so you can be pushed in the wheelchair right in the lines with your group.
Just in case you need it, know where First Aid is located in both parks so that if the pain hits, you'll be able to direct someone to get you there ASAP. All the CMs at First Aid are RNs and they are super nice and super helpful!

I have had trouble findinf first aid at disneyland, i thought it was by starbucks and the fruit cart and where the lockers were?

First Aid is a bit further down Main Street. It is right across from the corn dog cart.

I’d get an ECV. This way you can control where you go. (For instance, if you want to go to the restroom while your kids ride something you’ll have the freedom to do so.)

I had to go with a walking boot but brought a wheelchair because I knew it would be too much walking. Cast members very helpful. If the ride queue doesn't accommodate a wheelchair, they will give you a time to come back based on current wait time. You should still use fast pass or max pass.

if you have the time, my advise would be to check with guest services. over the years I've found that their procedures are not static and get little tweaks and adjustments all the time.

also, if you ask your doctor will probably sign off for a temporary HC placard for your car. this may help for things you may be doing outside the parks.

CMs have been consistently firm over the past few years about not giving DAS for mobility related issues. (If there are other non-mobility related issues that create problems with standing in lines, that is a different matter). But for mobility issues alone, DAS will not be given and CMs will advise the guest to get a mobility device.

Another vote for an ECV. I had my foot in a boot due to an injury on our last trip ... I got one and was SO glad I did! I was pretty worried about it at first, but it was very easy to use and saved my trip! Cast members were very helpful with figuring out which entrance to use, etc. As others have said, you still need FP, etc., like everyone else, you may just go in a different entrance on arrival to each ride.

As others have said go with the ECV. It will be a lot easier then being pushed around.

Also practice with it for a few min before you get to the parks if you have never used one. Last thing you want is to be figuring it out as you are going down Main St or trying to maneuver through the crowd in the entrance line etc.
