Hi! Can anyone please comment on how wheelchair friendly Bermuda is? I’m considering one of the NYC Dream sailing’s to Bermuda. I fully understand that Bermuda doesn’t follow the ADA. How is accessibility around the port? Are there things to do in walking distance where the ship docks? Any information/insight on? This would be much appreciated

Hi. I actually live in Bermuda and last year was hit by a car and broke both my legs. As such, I was in a wheelchair for quite a few months. Dockyard is where the ships dock and is quite accessible. Depending on the time of the year, there will be shops and restaurants open that are within walking distance. I found Hamilton less accessible. There are many places where the curbs were not easy to get up onto. Basically no buildings have accessible door buttons so you can’t open them unless you are with someone else (I found this very difficult as I needed help to get into my office). Please feel free to reach out if you have specific questions.
