This may be an odd question. I was wondering if the resorts have wheelchairs that I could rent. I have reserved a handicapped room at Pop Century. Walking is really hard for me these days. Should I try to rent one and bring it with me our can I get one at the resort. Thank you for any help. This is a new situation for me.

You can not rent WC at the resorts. They have them available for guests but can not be reserved. You would be better of renting one or an ECV from one of the offsite companies.

Does anyone know who the off site places to rent ECV's are. I would rather have one of those than to have to have my family push me around the whole trip. Thanks

Besides not being able to reserve ahead of time, some people have found the available resort wheelchairs were not what they needed - such as needing an extra wide and all that was available was regular, etc.
If you choose to try to get one at the resort, you probably would want to take the contact info along for the local Medical Equipment places. Here is a list of places DIS posters have used:
Care Medical:

Walker Mobility:

RANDY'S Mobility in Kissimmee 407-892-4777

Colonial Medical

Another option you might want to look into is renting a wheelcahir in your home area and traveling with it. That way you would have one available to get from the airport entrance to the plane and from the gate in orlando to baggage claim without having to rely on the airline.

Thank you for the quick reply. We are driving from Kentucky so thank god I do not have to deal with the airline thing. Do you know if any company is better that the other?

All the ones that are listed are ones that DIS posters have recommended. Each one has occasionally had an unhappy customer, but then someone else posts what a great experience they had with that company. So I don't think you are lilkley to have any problems with any of them.

One thing about Randy's. You must be present when they deliver an pick up the ECV or WC. The other companies will drop them off at the bell desk.
