My DD and her family are at Disney now and yesterday they ate at Caseys and Peco Bills at MK

Both places she was served wheat buns.

She was not very happy as she had heard they went back to the white

Today they ate at the Electric Umbrella at Epcot and the sadwiches they got were on white buns/bread :)

From a person that does not eat white bread, it's great. I do think you should have a choice, some people can't eat wheat products.

I would much rather have a choice than being told "this is what we have, and you are going to like it!"

White bread is made from wheat flour - it's just that the flour has been bleached white. If someone can't eat wheat products they also cannot eat white bread.

Another confirmation of the wheat buns. We ate at MK on Sunday, at the CS place in between Splash Mountain and POTC (either Pecos Bills or Victoria Falls; I can't remember the name). Anyway, it was wheat buns on the burgers. I asked if there were any white buns and was told no, that the buns in Disney are going to wheat.

I have a mixed bag at home of both wheat and white products. But the wheat buns we had at this CS location turned to brown mush. They just don't hold up.

The buns were one thing, but the burger meat has changed since our last trip in September. The burgers were inedible for us. Very, very bad -- mystery meat, hard as rocks. Took us back to the burgers that were served in the '70s and '80s.

At least the Figero fries haven't changed!

White bread can be made with bleached or unbleached wheat flour, though bleached has more gluten. The bran and endosperm are removed from both. Whole wheat flour is made with the whole grain.

This is all true - thank you for clarifying.

Also, for those who are interested, "wheat" bread and "whole wheat" bread can be two different things. Because white flour is "wheat" then bread can be sold as "wheat" bread but not have the bran and endosperm as whole wheat bread would. Sometimes what you are buying as "wheat" bread, paying more money and thinking it is healthier, is really just white bread with coloring. If you want the "healthier" alternative look for the words "whole wheat."

There is also now "white whole wheat" bread which I have not tried. I've heard it is a new hybrid wheat that reproduces the characteristics of white bread even when the whole grain is used.

When I was little, I use to see people sitting on the park benches, pulling PB&J sandwiches (and other homemade lunches) out of their backpacks. I didn't really get it at the time, because I was a little girl and I didn't realize that disney food was so expensive, so I always use to ask my parents why people brought food with them. Now, I wonder if I should start packing White Hot Dog Buns????? LOL!!!!!
