Whe ndo you suppose the 2010 vacation planner will come out??

We are fairly new to DVC, and trying to plan our 2010 honeymoon.

And do you think there will be a lot of add on's or changes in the resorts?
From your experience, does it vary from year to year?

I just got my 2009 planner a month ago, so it's anyone's guess when the 2010 planner will come out. I have been using the web site, which appears to have the most up-to-date point charts, etc. 2010 point charts are there as well.

I've only been a DVC member for a little over a year, so someone else is better qualified to answer your other questions.

The 2010 info is in the back of the newest planner, in the pocket at the very last inside page of the book.

When we joined in March we got an '08/'09 planner. then a few months later we got the '09/'10 planner.

I figure the '10/'11 planner will be out in a year or so. Maybe they'll actually use some REAL pictures from the newer resorts for it, instead of artists renditions...

I really wish that they would give us the option to "opt out" I find this thing useless and a waste of my dues and of paper. I know others love it, but it would be cost effective NOT to send it to those of us who automatically recycle it!

The point charts for 2010 are different from 2009. They reallocated the points, adding more points for weekdays and reducing Fri-Sat points.

There will not be any changes to the 2010 charts published, people have made reservations already through mid June.

There is a 2010 points chart in the back of the Planner. Those 2010 ponts will stay the same throughout 2010. Everything else mentioned in the book should be the same too.

Using the website is the way to go for up to date info.

I think I phrased the question wrong...I didn'y mean the points value. I meant if any of the resorts would be changing...Between last year and this year, for example I noticed that TheMarriott Chain dropped out of the Aruba section in the planner. I hope I am making sense!! I've given up coffee as of four days ago, and am a little foggy!

Are you talking about RCI options or Concierge Collection? Those can change at most anytime throughout the year, it depends upon when their individual contracts with either RCI or Disney (for the concierge collection) expire. It is fairly rare to see major changes to those collections, though there were major changes to both this year. Of course, the World Passport Collection changes were due to the switch from Interval International to RCI.

Maybe, until they do that, you could keep it aside to give to interested people? I sent an old Dreams book off with hubby to keep at his desk along with his referral slips (and he's been charged with making sure people know it's outdated info, just to give them an idea).
