For both parks?

Ive heard two different theories..One to hit the water rides b/c they get long lines in the heat of the day.
Two to hit popular rides like Hulk, and Jurrasic Park.

I was thinking maybe Simpson could be a long wait..

Will be there June9-11 with no FOTL pass..

If you want to ride The Simpsons w/o an EP, you will need to get there FIRST thing in the morning or you'll be looking at a LONG wait. I don't ride the water rides unless it's 500 degrees outside and I'm ready to leave. Hulk and Spiderman will have long waits unless you do them first thing but assuming you've already ridden those two, I would do The Simpsons first since it's new.

I found a website that I bookmarked and used for our last trip and it seemed to work well for us. The only main difference is that you NEED to do Simpson's first and rather quickly. Hope it helps. This is not my info, just cut and paste from someone else : ) Also, it refers to express pass back when everyone could get it so adjust accordingly.

Attack Plan

IOA/USF 2005

Many ask, what’s the best way to tour the parks?

That’s subjective, and there are a few attack plans you can try. Each one assumes you arrived to the parking garage at 8am (or walked from your onsite hotel), and are standing at the gate by 08:15am. In the summer time, or busy holidays, the park usually opens at 08:45am. My plans are suited for adults/teens who like thrill rides.

Taking a lap Tour of IOA
This tour basically goes in a circle around the park doing the rides in order. When the park opens, run to Hulk.
Hulk in the front row
Hulk in the back row
Get an express pass for Hulk when exiting, return time of 11am
Spiderman
Dr Doom
Pteranodon Flyers (optional, kid rule goes into effect when the line gets big)
Rip Saw Falls
Jurassic Park River Adventure
Popeye (you will get soaked)
Flying Unicorn (optional)
Dueling Dragons (fire and ice)
Poseidon’s Fury (usually opens at 11am)
Hulk using express pass
Lunch at Mythos
Sinbad Show
Kiddie rides in Seuss Landing
Go back to hotel and change cloths, rest

Thrill Ride Tour at IOA
Hulk in the front row
Hulk in the back row
Get an express pass for Hulk when exiting, return time of 11am
Spiderman
Dr Doom
Dueling Dragons (front row of each coaster)
Jurassic Park River Adventure
Rip Saw Falls
Popeye (optional)
Hulk using express pass
Lunch at Mythos
Go back to hotel and change cloths, rest

Both parks in 1 day Tour
Start in USF
Shrek 4D
The Mummy
Get an express pass for 3pm
Walk over to IOA
Follow either tour of IOA up above, most likely the Thrill Ride Tour
You may want to skip Popeye to avoid getting soaked
And the front seat line for the coasters will be too long, try for row 2
Come back to USF and do
Mummy using express pass
MIB (use single rider line)
Jaws
The rest is up to you but do not ride BTTF as it will make you sick.

USF only tour
* Would do Simpsons now first and then I'd do
Shrek 4D
Jimmy Neutron (optional)
The Mummy
Get an express pass for Mummy return time of noon
MIB
Jaws
Earthquake
Mummy using express pass or single rider line
Eat lunch early and continue doing attractions
Twister
T2
ET

Then see a show to rest your feet
Go back to hotel and change cloths, rest

Maps of the parks can be found here.

Believe it or not, using any of the above attack plans, you will be done with your tour by the early afternoon. By this time, your feet will be tired, and you will be ready to leave, especially if you are dragging kids along. If you want to stay, fine, but it’s best to go back to your hotel room, rest, and come back later that afternoon when crowds are leaving.

11am to 4pm is rush hour at the park. That is when they are most crowded. It is a good idea to head back to your hotel room, because in the summer time, the sun heats up the walkways (painted concrete or black ashvault) and you’ll be dripping with sweat. It’s hot ok?

Most people arrive at 11am, they sleep in, or get a late start. If you can be at the gate before 9am, you will have a huge head start on these people. Most of the time, I am leaving the parks around noon, as the mass of people are arriving.

When I go back to the parks at 4pm, it’s the opposite. The mass of people are leaving, worn out from the afternoon heat, the afternoon sun is dropping, and I’m showing up for an evening of fun.

Even if you stay onsite, it’s still a good idea to arrive to the parks early, because then you can get your front seat rides on Hulk, Dueling Dragons, and get out of the heat around noon when the crowd shows up. Most likely, you will be back at the front of the park at noon. That is when you want to leave and go back to your hotel room.

Here is Robert’s get the front seat from row 2 trick. Many times, those waiting for the front row will only be a party of 3. If you are waiting in row 2, keep your eyes pealed to see how many are going into the front row. If a seat is available, take it. If you are with someone, let them know before hand so they’ll understand and not throw a fit about it.

There are 3 bars in each park, usually located next to a restaurant. Happy Hour at them usually starts around 4pm, and runs for a couple hours. The specials and times at each bar vary during the year. Nascar Café has draft beer specials all the time, a good place to visit. Check the times and specials the other bars are offering. There is usually a sign posted, or you can ask a bar tender.

End of Report.

Rob's touring plan is good. I think he made this when Shrek only had one theater open. I would go with :
Simpson's
Mummy
Jimmy
Shrek

At IOA:
Hulk
Dr. Doom
Spidey
Pteranadon Flyers

ioa: hulk, front row
spiderman
jurassic
dueling dragons, then shows, suess, dr. dooms, etc.

us: simpsons
mummy
shrek
jimmy
twister
mib, then shows and the rest. these are the ones where lines get the longest.

One thing that is outdated on this plan is that there are no longer the express pass machines.

Our touring plan:

  • Wake up sometime before 10:30 (before club closes for breakfast)
  • Eat breakfast
  • On boat, decide which park to go to
  • Go to decided park. Wander around and as we pass a ride, decide if we want to ride it.
  • Get off ride.
  • Decide if we want to ride it again.
  • When we get hungry, we decide where to eat. Most likely Finnegans, Margaritaville or Mythos. Use FOTL for seating, no being tied down by silly ADRs :teeth:.
  • Ride a few more rides.
  • Is it time for a Margarita yet?
  • Get Margarita.
  • Get another Margarita.
  • Let kids go on more rides.
** Will have to amend to get there early at least one day if there still is no FOTL for Simpsons come November.

This is the lazy, lazy onsite person's touring plan :goodvibes

** Will have to amend to get there early at least one day if there still is no FOTL for Simpsons come November.
The Express line should be open WAY before November so you should be set.
