What's Your Top Ten (or less) Reasons for Losing Weight?

Also, not in any specific order

1. No not feel like I am the fattest mom at school.

2. To be able to shop in the regular stores and not look for the "women's department"

3. To not stand at an angle in every picture

4. To be able to be more "adventurous" in our love life

5. To tie my shoes in the middle

6. To wear sexy lingerie (not granny underwear)

7. To be here for a long time for my kids

8. To not spend my 40's fat

9. To want to exercise every day

10. To love my body
 
What a great thread!!!!!

In no particular order, and the first 10 that come to mind... ( I probably have 100 reasons if not more!)

1. to be healthier so I can be around to enjoy my kids as long as I can.
2. To not have to worry when I sit down in a chair, if it will hold me.
3. To wear my wedding ring again!
4. See the pride in my DH, DS, DD eyes as I cross the finish line at the 1/2 marathon
5. To see the pride in my mom and dad's eye's
6. Shop in the normal clothes again, and shop for what I like, not what I can fit into.
7. Physically feel better, not tired and achy all the time
8. Increase self confidence
9. Pride in accomplishing this journey/challenge
10. To not be the biggest one when I go somewhere... school, church, work, stores, etc
11. To be able to ride mission space (too afraid now)
12. Enjoy looking at pictures of me and not being disgusted by what I see.
13. Not hiding behind things when taking pictures.
14. being able to run again (I loved running)
15. Not having weight related health problems
16. Not being embarassed when bumping into people I haven't seen in years
17. To wear a mother and daughter matching dresses.
18. Sew some clothes for myself
19 To be able to pick up the first pair of scrubs at work and have them fit
20 Enjoy water parks and other outings more, because I won't waste my time being self conscious

Awesome thread! I have a note card with my Top Ten Reasons for Losing Weight (and keeping it off) in my wallet. I'm not sure if these are them verbatim, but they're sure close!

1. I want to be healthy and live a long life.

2. I want to be able to shop for clothes without looking for the "Plus" or "Women's" section.

3. I want to go to my 10 year HS reunion and have people wonder who I am. Then when they find out, I want them to faint! LOL

4. Before I become pregnant, I want to be healthy for myself and my baby and also down the road so I am a good role model for my child(ren)'s health.

5. I want to feel sexy and be able to cross my legs all the way ;-)

6. I want to be a Tae-Bo Instructor someday.

7. I want guys to hit on me again (not that I would act on them b/c I'm married, but just that confidence is very nice!)

8. I want to go to an aerobics class and not feel like I'm the biggest one there.

9. I want to go to the beach or swimming pool and not worry about the way I look.

And last but definitely not least...

10. I want to be the thin me I know I am! :)

I thought of another one:

I don't want to have to shop at the dreaded "back wall" of the lingerine department.
 

Great thread!

1. Because I turned 30 last year and I know losing weight isn't going to get easier as I get older, but harder. Now is the time to do it!

2. Because I can already tell my son is going to have a struggle with his weight. I don't want to be a bad example for him, but a good one.

3. I always want my husband to think I'm as beautiful and sexy as the day we got married (I was only 19 and a size 5 at the time)!

4. Because I know how much of a difference carrying those extra 10 (or so) pounds around can make to your body. I want my body to thank me and treat me well as I get older.

5. I want people to look at me and be surprised that I've had 2 kids and gained over 60 lbs. with each of them!

I know there are more, but these are the first thoughts that came to my mind.
 
well some of my reasons are:

1) to be healthier
2) to fit into the millions of clothes I refuse to throw out because I promised myself I would fit into them again soon
3) to have my energy back
4) to make the men go crazy (tee hee hee)
5) to have more self confidence
6) to be impressed with myself again
7) to enjoy my disney trips more (with more energy, look better in the pictures,etc.)
8) to inspire others that they can do anything
9) this weight loss is the start of me rebuilding my life since I was so sick
10) to remind myself and everyone else that I can make things happen!!!

those are just a few........not to mention getting my dis wish goal clippie!!! hoping to hit my goal before my december trip and with the DIS Wish behind me anything is possible.

I just wanted to point out that everyones reasons are great ones and that with those kind of hopes and desires I believe we will all hit our weight loss goals.
