After another thread I thought I would ask this question.
What hotel is special to you and why ?
We very first stayed at the Santa Fe in 2003 only 2 nights 3 days me dd1 dd2 ds1
from the moment we got back and every day after I've been planning our next disney trip lol.
We then stayed at the Cheyenne the next 5 trips my ds1 (now 17 ) loved cowboys and this hotel was perfect for the gun shooting little boy :rotfl:
We had a year off when the twins where born they first went at 13mths we always stayed in the SL or the HNY going back to the Cheyenne on our last trip walking into the room it's was quite emotional we had pixie dust but it wasn't just that it was all the memories of being there all the years before so the Cheyenne will all be disney to me
Anyone care to share ?

The Disneyland hotel is my special hotel, I find it so relaxing. Also, I was able to treat my parents to a stay there with us for their 40th wedding anniversary so it is the 1st Disney hotel my parents stayed in. We stay off site for our trips now in aparthotels, but if we were to stay on site again I think I would only do so at the Disneyland hotel.

For us its the Santa Fe. It was our 1st hotel and then last year it was the hotel myself and the kids stayed at for my 1st adventure without any other supervising adult :rotfl: and you know it was the best trip we had.

What was your worse/least enjoyable trip or day at DLP?

Loads of you love the Santa Fe don't you.
Just You and the kids perfect Kizzy :cloud9:

We had a sickness bug once at the Cheyenne no one toilet the same as your lol
Also had a few teenager strops.

What yours ?

I've moved your posts out of the chat thread as I think this topic deserves a thread all of its own ;).

Oooh it would have to be the year we stayed in the Cheyenne, the room was terrible!!

Thanks for that :goodvibes
We know yours but do tell again ?!?

its the Santa Fe  - it was the first hotel we stayed in the first ever time we went to DLP, we've stayed there many times since and it feels like "home" :).

I've stayed in 4 DLP hotels and 3 of them are really special to me.
Santa Fe was the first hotel I stayed in and the trip was a Christmas surprise from my mum and dad. I have really fond memories of that hotel - the room, breakfast (croissants are a big deal when you're 11!), character meets in the lobby...
Sequoia Lodge because I stayed there on my first holiday with "adults". We had an amazing lake view room...
DLH was incredible. It took us 45 seconds to get from our room to the park gates and the stay was for my 21st birthday.
I can't choose just one...sorry!

The Cheyenne is mine. Stayed at Sequoia and New York also, but it's tne Cheyenne that really seems like home to me. It's so well themed, I love the walk along the river, and it's so cosy to come back to after a cold February day in the parks. :goodvibes

The Explorers is always going to have so many happy memories for me as it's the only hotel we stayed at on our early trips - we never minded being a little bit out of the magic and we used to have such a laugh walking back in the dark.

Our last two trips were onsite - the DLH was a treat for my 50th and then we stayed at the NPB the following summer - loved both but would like to be able to say I have stayed at all the hotels.

Have to say we have been very, very lucky and have NEVER had a bad time at DLP - the closest to one was back in 2007 when we got caught up in the travel strikes, got bumped off our flight and had to spend the night at CDG. It could have been so much worse, at least we were in the warm and not only did they feed us but we were well recompensed and it paid for the front of our house to be double glazed!

DLH.

I remember going in with my Mum during our first ever trip when it was newly opened and I was 10 or 11. (We stayed at HNY but we both fell in love with DLH while there.)

Then that's where Jack and I stayed on the trip he proposed. Which was such a magical trip in so many ways.

And it's soon to be the first Disney Hotel our long wished for daughter stays in. Which should cement it as our favourite DLRP even more.

Mine is the Santa Fe, as it is where DW and I spent our honeymoon in 2005.

it has to be Hotel New York for me. It was our first hotel we stayed in, and it still makes me feel so special walking in to it and staying there. :lovestruc

We stayed at Santa Fe back in 1992 and went back again in 2006. It was lovely to go back, I have great memories of that first trip.
But I wouldn't be keen to stay there now with kids. Breakfast would be too stressful and I'd rather be closer to the parks.

I've stayed in all the On-site hotels and the Cheyenne is probably my favourite (followed by the DLH), it was the first I stayed in and the theme is so cute! Santa Fe was my least favourite but only because the bustling crowds and themeing didn't win me over.

Probably Sequoia Lodge for me. It was the hotel we stayed at on our first visit to DLP way back in 1992, chosen after "researching" everything in the various exciting new DLP guide books I read while working in a bookshop at the time!! It is also the one we have stayed at the most since then, and I love the Redwood Bar, which I find it the most relaxing and attractive lounge of all the hotels.

But I also have a soft spot for the Hotel New York. Originally chosen for a trip because "it was one we hadn't stayed at" and previously dismissed as looking a bit too business like, I was surprised at how nice it actually was, and we have had great trips both times we have stayed there. Plus getting a room looking over the lake makes for a pretty good view! ::yes::

DLH gets my vote, although I love the theming of the Cheyenne.

I was treated to a stay at the DLH in 2006 on my first return to the parks since 1995 and it was amazing! This was my first stay in an onsite hotel and I was blown away by it's splendor and beauty!
I stayed in the Santa Fe and the Cheyenne on 2 future visits but when I wanted to go for my Birthday last year there was only one choice for me, the DLH! It was still as magical as I remembered it and even experienced Decent of the stairs for the first (and last) time. We had left over Birthday cake cut with a teaspoon at our table in the room, it was just thoroughly enjoyable! To top it all, I've just booked to go again in November this year with a friend who's never been before, she's going to love it!
