What's your pet(s) name, and how did you come up with it?

Love these stories. I have a good one. We had two Airedales when we were first married...the second one passed in 2010 at 12. And we missed having one but had a little rescue schnauzer and he was enough for us at that time.
The day we were departing for a two week trip to France my husband had a dream that he told me about when he woke up. He said in his dream we had an adorable Airedale and her name was Phoebe. Then about a week later we were touring wineries in Bordeaux when into the tasting room comes the owner's dog....an Airedale, which isn't a dog you see very often. Her name wasn't Phoebe, it was Verdale, and she came right to us and sat next to us. We took it as a sign. Thirteen years later, Phoebe is still with us. So I always think of Phoebe as our dream dog who also happened to be named in a dream .

From oldest pet to youngest:

(1) Peter the blue and white Japanese Bobtail cat with green eyes - he came to us with the name. His breeder name the litter after the secret identities of superheroes. I attempted to rename him but nothing seemed right. "Peter" just seemed to fit.

(2) Finn the little white rat dog (aka, miniature poodle cross) with brown eyes - he came to us with the name "Nino". My DD25 named him after Finnick Odair of "The Hunger Games".

(3) Breck the white and red Japanese Bobtail van with blue eyes (white coat plus red tail and splotches on his ears) - he came from a JBT breeder in Denver while my DD25 was a ski instructor in Breckenridge, CO. He was named after the ski town of Breckenridge.

(4) Saba the mackerel tabby Japanese Bobtail with amber eyes - he came from the same breeder as Breck at the same time. He was named after the Japanese word for mackerel sushi.
