whats your oldest souvenir? are they still available

My Mickey Mouse back scratcher, monorail pass (you needed a pass to ride the resort monorail back then) and original Contemporary Resort bill from December 1971.

What a fun topic! I went through a phase in the early 90s when I saved EVERYTHING hoping it would be worth something someday. Old ToT promotional stuff, Hercules pins, just a lot of trinkets. Maybe one day it can be my retirement. :rotfl2:

The oldest stuff I have is from the 80s. I have a Mickey Mouse finger puppet -- not the kind you wear on your fingers, but the kind you push up from the bottom and the arms and legs move. I must have gotten it sometime in the mid '80s (I can actually remember riding the train around the MK and playing with it!). I have a souvenir book from 1986 (that's the copyright) and it's fun to look back and see how different everything was (Discovery Island! All the 'lost' rides!). I also have a large collection of the glass figurines they used to make. I haven't seen them mass produced since the mid-90s and I miss them! My oldest ones are Alice in Wonderland and the Cinderella set, but I have quite a few. I'll never part with them! :goodvibes :goodvibes

My parents have a 4 foot Mickey Mouse purchased on their 1972 WDW Honeymoon! He is pretty worn out- his ears don't stand up on their own and he is faded. Lots of love throughout the years! The fun part of the story is that the airline didn't want to let Mickey on the plane without a ticket! My mom held him the whole way home.

I have a stuffed Thumper from Bambi (think it was from the first trip in '71), a Figment rubber bank that my girls took over from my mid 80's trip, along with two papier mache' masks from the China pavilion. Funny, they still have the masks and probably the bank and the Thumper too! Guess I pick "timeless treasures", huh?

WDW pennant from 1971. Also a park map from same year although my sister actually has that.

I have alot of Disney memorabilia, but my oldest Walt Disney World souvenirs are a large stuffed plush Pluto and Goofy from Walt Disney World inaugural year, 1971. I actually had someone offer me $700 for the Goofy, but I couldn't tell you what it's really worth. Of course, I didn't sell it...

One set is the hard plastic made by "thermos" I believe with the castle/mainstreet/mickey etc. Also, the ceramic mug has main street etched into it with color, and I have 2 sets of these. I think they are from 1974-1977 not sure though. ;)

I have old tickets left from when you used to get a coupon booklet...so many for frontier land, tomorrow land, fantasy land and adventureland! I also have a metal serving tray(more like a paper plate holder) from the late 70's early 80's. Also have confetti from Mickey's Birthday party! This is a great thread...memories!!!

I have a couple of coupon ticket booklets from my first visit in 1976. It still has several coupon tickets left including an E ticket. The price on the booklet is $6.75 for the Junior, and $7.25 for the Adult. :smickey:

I have the park maps for MK and Epcot from my first trip in 84 along with the park hopper tickets for our stay and tickets for River Country. I probably also have a keychain from that trip packed away somewhere as I used to collect them.

I found something a couple of weeks ago at my Dad's house. Many moons ago he and I went to Disney, just the two of us. It was the first trip to Disney that I remember. While we were there, he bought me a sailor's hat that had an embroidered Mickey on it and we had my name embroidered on it too! I still love that hat!! But, it has yellowed from age :sad2: I tried to wash it and it survived the spin cycle but, it is still yellow. I'm scared to try bleach because I don't want to ruin it. Does anyone have any suggestions? It doesn't really fit anymore but, I would love to display it if I can get it looking good again!

Anyone know if they still sell these?

It was around 1989 when we were there on that trip and I believe that MGM had just opened!

I have an etched glass mug with my name engraved. that my sister brought back from WDW in 1972, I believe - I know it was before 1975, Even though I was a teenager, I still remember using that mug every night at dinner for my beverage. I love that mug. A few years ago when my DD was a toddler, and before I moved to Orlando, my sister brought us new matching ones with our names engraved.

I still have a parkhopper ticket from 1983. They were paper tickets, and were stamped with the date when you entered a park. It was the same stamp they use/used at libraries when you checked out a book.

I have a ceramic Cinderella and Snow White, one from a trip in 1976 and one from 1978. I was in kindergarten and second grade on those trips. Cinderella's head has been broken and glued back as has Snow White's hands. They sit up high on a shelf on DD's room. I wish they still made those.

My parents gave me an old Disney license plate that they bought on one of our trips in the 70s. I also have a stuffed Minnie Mouse (from the 80s?) that is now dd's.

Fun question! I have a brass MM figurine that I believe is from our first trip to WDW in 1971 and a set of Snow White figurines with the dwarves, circa 1975. SW and the dwarves are in my elder dd's room, and unfortunately one of the dwarves is chipped. I also have a MM watch from that trip, and I think the autograph book I used might be in a box in the basement along with a few other things. I did have some beautiful Snow White and Alice dolls, but they didn't survive a basement flood.

I have a ceramic Figment figurine that I got on my first vistit in 1984. I still have it in my shadow box.

I was just using my Snow White pencil that I bought in EPCOT during our first trip in 1993. :) I don't think they have that same pencil anymore.
