 Hi Everyone

I noticed a few newbies on the dis lately and a few people asking about the best time of year to go to Orlando and the surrounding area, so i just thought i'd ask you all.....

What IS your favourite time of year to visit?

My favourite time of year has to be late November/early December, i love all the christmassy decs and the atmosphere, although it can be quite chilly at times especialy early morning and evening, but even then it's usualy still warmer than "Sunny Scotland" Most of the rides are walk on (unless you hit Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas) and some of the restaurants (on or off site) are not as busy either ;)

So which month/months do you prefer and why? :goodvibes

Oops! i seem to have posted this twice,:confused3 maybe a mod could remove one please? :flower3:

I;ve been in October and January and I LOVE October. I can't compare any other months but I don't think I could stand the heat of the summer months, and I couldn't go any other time outside of school holidays (my son'd school has 2 weeks off for October half term instead of one).

The first time I went it was for a month, 10/10 till 10/11 and it started getting a bit chilly towards the end in November. October was perfect.

January was ok but a bit cold.

We're going in October this year and I personally think the weather is perfect for me (get some sun) and the children (who have never been abroad before, so it won't be too hot for them).

Then again, it really is an all year round destination, it's great any time of year.

Mid Sept/Early Oct,we've been in JUne & it was absolutely manic-queues as long as 3 hours!!:scared1: We like Sept/Oct because apart from weekends it's fairly quiet, walk on in most cases, the weather is still hot -in fact our first 10 days last year was the hottest we have had.Not every holiday in Sept has been great weather wise in fact we have had 2 complete washouts but it does seem to settle the nearer you get to Oct.Recently we have had to cope with more & more Restaurants closed in the parks but still more than adequate.
Not forgetting the main attraction....Halloween!We really love how the US goes crazy for this & wouldn't miss MNSSHP & of course Horror Nights at Universal.
SD:thumbsup2

Unfortunatley we are restricted to the school holidays so cannot really go at what I would regard as the best times.

If I could would probably go either late April through early May -missing Easter or sometime in October.
In theory the crowds shouldn't be so bad and the weather should be ideal, nice and hot without being unbearable like it is in the summer.

Recent holidays in August I have just found the heat really difficult to deal with and it has had an impact on the holiday.

It is difficult because July/August with the summer holiday break is easily the most convenient time to go, but it's just too hot.

Both times i have been is May/early june and i love it not too crowded, ride times good! and the weather is amazin! :goodvibes

the last time we went was the last 2 weeks in May, we loved it- weather wise and queue wise. going again this May- last 2 weeks, hopefully it will be similar. :)

We love November, first three weeks are fab! Great temps and good wait times for the rides. The last two years we have been Christmas / New Year, BUSY BUSY BUSY until about the 6th Jan and then it all calms down, it's great to just soak up the atmosphere and chill in the sun. We have found the weather to be warm most days, although we have had a few chilly ones too! We are also flying out 4th Jan 10, so hopefully most of the crowds will be gone by then. We are kind of restricted by when we can go due to our shop opening but January is a lovely time too!

I have only been in september due to university and I liked the cheaper flights ,that it was quiet and MNSSHP however found it still to hot and didn't like the love bugs. I am looking forward to October though as hopefully it won't be to hot and we get to see F&W after the past two years watching them set up for it.

June time for us..into July.
July is quite busy at the end but we find it bearable..we go mainly as we like the weather, etc and its a good time for us to go.:thumbsup2
I am contemplating booking for December though (lets not mention this to DP):lmao:

Christmas - unfortunately like Julie Sharp we have to go in school hols as my sister is a teacher. It's a very busy time of year but we just love the carol concert and the lights at Hollywood Studios. I love the Holiday Wishes fireworks at MK, they're brilliant to see and the ending is just fantastic. Could do with being slightly hotter though.

I love April, but Spring Break crowds are huge. It's nice to get away and have some sun after the UK winter though.

August was just tooooo hot and I wilted every time I walked out of the door, it was even too hot for me to sit around the pool for long periods of time. Mind you the thunder storms were great and we spent many an afternoon sitting in our air conditioned apartment at OKW with the balcony doors open watching the storms with a pina colada or Baileys with ice in one hand.

But I have to say that whenever I go I still enjoy the Disney magic as I am a big kid at heart and even aged 48 I still enjoy all of the parks, even if I sit and people watch whilst my family go on the move adventurous rides. :thumbsup2

Hiya - also limited to school holidays...

went April last year when Easter was in March - worked really well.... crowds not too bad, weather great - (warm, not humid - no "bugs") - over there that is - who would have guessed we'd have a 24hour delay due to snow at Gatwick - IN APRIL!!!!

Time before (before kids!!) we went in early October..... crowds very low, weather cr** - got caught up in a hurricane (Georges) , very humid and hot all the time - stayed in a cheap hotel (Holiday inn express on I drive) and had to choose between air con on + no sleep due to the noise, or air con off and no sleep due to heat....:confused3

My Fave time would be Xmas thru New Year but not most enjoyable for 2 reasons, Its waaaaay too busy to enjoy. This Xmas was so busy it will be our last for a few years, upto 6 hours to get on Soarin, 45 mins to get a burger, no fun. Other reason Too cold, although this year was one of the best its still too cold for me.

Now most enjoyable time and when I would advise anyone to go is October, Lots going on, great weather, low prices, low crowds.

Only ever been around school hols, hopefully in next fews years can try quieter times like Late April/Early May or Sept.

Mine is November, great weather and good crowd levels plus you get to see the Xmas decs :goodvibes

I have been April, May, June, July, August and October

and by far October is my favourite the weather was perfect both times I have visited in October it wasnt too busy

Next time I plan to go in November as I desperate to see the christmas decorations

September is nice crowdwise but obviously you still have the intense summer heat and also the risk of hurricanes and/or frequent heavy rain so possibly not the best time of year for weather. I'd visit at that time of year again though. I'd like to visit in November/early December next time to see the Christmas stuff.

First vote for the first two weeks in December - parks not too busy and the decorations are outstanding :cool1: .

Next vote would go for October - nice and warm and the parks are not too busy except at the weekend :thumbsup2 .

We love to go in November the decorations are wonderful and really gets you in the christmas spirit.:santa:

we love november costhe xmas decs are up adn the parks are full of holiday cheer (although its a bit on the cold side for me:lmao: )
we're going in sept this year due to cheap flights, free dining, woohoo. hope it doesn't rain too much though.
