You know.....the little county fairs, not the big theme parks!!

I can't stand any of the spinning rides esp Gravitron!:p

My favorite would have to be the good 'ole ferris wheel!:D

We don't have it around here anymore for some reason but I always loved the Spider. It was black and it spun (Not upsidedown) and went round and round.

Here it is,

The Gravatron is now called Spaceship 2004 or whatever year it is around here. My 12 year old LOVES it and I can remember loving it too when I was a kid but you couldn't pay me to get on it now.

Beauty -- I hate those things. :crazy2: We have them around here and we have "The Octopus", which is like the spider, only vertical with cages around the little car things. :crazy2:

I don't like ANY carnival rides, but I love carnivals! I just like the people and the smell of the food and watching the people play the games. I especially like trying to pitch a dime into a mug to win the mug. :confused3 Boring, eh? :p

When I was a kid you could win kewpie dolls, plastic leis and wicker canes. I loved those prizes! LOL!

Beauty, I used to love the spider when I was a kid!! :teeth:

Maggie......I still love the smell of fair foods especially elephant ears!!!::yes::

I used to love them *all* as a kid... now I won't even dream of stepping foot on any of them :p

I've never been a big fan. There's just something fishy about a ride that is folded up one minute and 30 feet in the air the next. Doesn't make me feel safe. However, there is one that is on the ground that I have always loved... The Sizzler/Scrambler (people call it different things.) I figure if it malfunctions the worst that will happen is that I will fly 10-20 feet in the air rather than falling out of the sky ;)

I used to love the octopus the most - it's similar to the spider ride!

I really disliked the big wheel (ferris) especially when it stopped at the top and rocked a bit!

Another one I disliked was a ride called the rotor. It was a cylinder drum, you leant against the wall and when it span round fast you literally stuck to them. After a few minutes of it spinning the floor dropped away!!!!!!!! For some strange reason I went on this twice - LOL! :p

I thought of one I would go on now!!! Bumper cars!!!! Look out! *Beep Beep* :p I want to try not to hit anyone though, and someone is always trying to hit me. :p

Belle! I never had the nerve to go on any of the rides other than the ferris wheel, but ESPECIALLY not the Rotor.

The Bumper cars always drove (no pun intended! ) me nuts!! I always got the car that went the slowest and everyone took their agressions out on me!!!:earseek:

I love anything that SPINS. If it spins you upside down, even better!!! I just went to a fair this weekend and the only thing I could ride was the ferris wheel with my son (I'm pregnant). I swear we were on that thing for 10 minutes. I was about to get sick from going around and around. I have never been so anxious to get off a ride.

Wow, this brings back memories.... Worse is the ferris wheel, favorite is the matterhorn and cotton candy of course:)

The one and only ride I go on at our county fair is the Rainbow. It's the one that looks like, well, a rainbow. It goes around in a circle, way up high. It's a major blast. Your stomach feels like it's going to fall out.

I will not go on the Texas Revolver. Once as a kid, the guy stuck us upside down for a really long time. I felt like the blood rushing to my head would make my head explode, and my arms were so weak from trying to hang on. Never again.

I also avoid all ferris wheels and the Chaos (don't know how anyone can stomach that).;)

Oh how my DH and I hate the fairs. We are just not carnie folk. I hate everything about them. My county has a huge county fair and for the past 8 years we have managed to keep it a secret from our children....not easy when driving right past that huge, lighted ferris wheel. THAT took some fast talking pointing out the barbed wire on the prison fence on the other side of the road to keep them from looking in the other direction. I hate county fairs and I'm not afraid to admit it!! No, I don't need a 12 step program, just keep me away from the carnies.

I'm afraid of all those little rides that come around and are put together by questionable guys who smell like pot....

I used to know a "carnie" in high school and they used to get high before they went to work running those rides....

My favorites are the scrambler and the tilt-a-whirl.
Least favorite-faris wheel. I really don't like the idea of being that high up in something that is put together and taken apart every couple days.

Yeah, they smell like pot and stale liquor. Scares me. DS really
agonizes over how to talk me into letting him ride. They have
one of those centrifigal force rides at our Center of Science and
Industry. Ds loves it-I wait while he rides again and again!

LOL, they do don't they and they always look so nasty too!!!!!

Now on another note we just got back from Vegas and Adventuredome was like a huge INSIDE/CLEANER/SAFER fair!!! WE had a blast and had even more fun playing all the games for stuffed animals!!!! The games are fair and we came home with about 3 bags full of animals plus a huge stuffed horse, 3 huge Care Bears and a Huge SpongeBob.

For the first time EVER I actually felt like I came away with more than I spent.

There's a reason 40-year old women don't ride the scrambler. Just say no.
