We are planning a budget trip to the World after the holidays. Would anyone like to share their favorite value resort or are they basically all the same?

Pop Century. I like just about everything better at Pop than the All Stars.

* The rooms are less garish. I don't like the AS room decorations.
* The main pool is nicer. The pool bar is better. a
* All rooms are close to the main area. Close to the food court, registration and busses.
* The food court is nicer. It's not just one huge room.
* There is a real bar in the food court area with nice places to sit down.

For all of the above reasons!

Plus it has an inside Lounge Bar as well as a Petals, pool side bar - nice addition.

The Lake adds a lot to the over all feel of the Resort.

Pop is nice because it is newer but I still prefer the themeing of the Movies. Love the Toy story bedroom and the Mighty ducks hockey pool.

have only stayed at All- Star Sports and Music.
Not much difference between those two...except there usually seems to be more people (especially in terms of large groups) at Sports. We like 'em both just fine...

So I might give the edge to Music, just because it has normally been less crowded (at least in our experience anyway).

But I've heard good things about Movies and Pop.

I'm pretty much sold on Pop Century's direct buses. I don't much like having to stop at other resorts or stops within resorts.

I've only tried ASMu & ASMo and prefered Music over Movies....

Would like to try Pop sometime. Never want to stay @ Sports.

Sounds like we're going to give Pop a try. Thanks for all the responses!

Can you tell me why you never want to stay at All-Star Sports? We have a room booked there in July and were pretty excited until I came on the resort board. :(

I'm not MAC3, but I know that some folks won't stay at ASSp because they are not sports oriented and that often the youth sports teams stay there when they play at the Wide World of Sports. Me, I love sports :). I have not been able to stay at ASMv yet because there were no discounts until Pop opened up and I would rather stay at Pop. However, I have stayed at ASMu and ASSp and I like ASSp better. It's less spread out and I enjoy the sports theme over the music theme. Don't worry. I think if your family enjoys sports, they'll have a great time!

We've stayed at all the the value resorts and settled at the ASmo since it was built.
Our favorite section is the Mighty Ducks: we get our own pool and laundry facilities. It's a short walk over to the ASmu when DH gets up at the crack of dawn and wants his coffee and paper.
Pluses: the themeing, food court, mousekeeping, price, quiet, transportation
Minuses: distance to walk to the food court from some of the sections, room size, lack of room "extras"
Overall we LOVE this resort and will move on to a Deluxe sometime in the future, but the cost keeps us coming back.

Well, I was told as far as the All-Star resorts are concerned that Sports is closest to the bus stop. Seeing as I'm going to spend very little time in the hotel, that's good enough for me. :sunny:
