What's your favorite thing to buy in Disneyland?

Okay, what's a dole whip?

its a pineapple soft serve ice cream ...and they put it in a cup...the float has the same but they pour pineapple juice over it and top it with a cherry:goodvibes let me tell you...when your there on a hot day the float will cool you off in seconds flat:thumbsup2

My favorite souvenir is my son's silhouette. It's in a little shop on Main Street and it didn't cost very much. It is amazing to watch the women that work there. The women that cut my son's had worked there for over 30 years. She had it done in about 2 minutes.

There are a lot of good food suggestions on this thread. I am making a list.

OH man how about those Mickey Mouse rice krispie heads half dipped in chocolate Mmmm Mmmmm!

I don't like those rice krispy things, everytime I've had one it tasted stale. I just stick with my churros or ice creams now. LOL Could be why I've got weight to lose.....LOL

I'm getting silhouettes done this trip, I want ones of my girls. We are pin traders/collectors and we recently finished our silhouette pin set, I'm going to get ours done and then put them in a big frame all together. :)

Chocolate covered ice cream Mickey Ears! I always get a new Disney purse (okay I bought 3 last time). I always use them no matter how dorky I look and its a nice reminder!

I hope you have a great time - don't forget to get your 1st Visit Button at City Hall!

LOVE the frozen bananas! Dole Whips!!! TURKEY LEGS......YUMMO!!!!

but most of all, I have to agree that my pictures are my biggest treasures. Along with them I love any thing I can put in my scrapbook....pennies, postcards, etc.

I always keep every travel document (I'm a dork), napkins, brochures, menus when I can.

AND...dont shoot me....I clip the post off of my pins and scrapbook them too! ;) I only buy idea specific ones...meaning when I buy it, I KNOW what kind of page I'm going to put it on.

OH- the swirl ice cream on the boardwalk between Screamin and Ariels Grotto.

We just got some ice cream there last week and it was some of the best ice cream I have ever had!!! I got the chocolate vanilla swirl and it was so yummy! This is on my list of favorite places to eat for every trip from now on!

As far as souvenirs, we always get a special frame for pics, a new mug or two for DH & I, pins (even though I say I am not going to buy them on the trip, I always do... :rotfl: ), any new souvenir photo book/guide, and the kids always get a toy or two and a t-shirt.

From past trips we also have silhouettes of both boys, lots of little trinkets, ears, ornaments, keychains, etc... but it never fails, when we get home there is always something that I wish we would have bought that we didn't... :confused3

OHHHHH how could I forget???

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cheap jewelry at The World of Disney! lol! I always have to get myself a ring or two...you know the ones that are like $15.00 or so.

I like them so much infact that I lost my favorite and called Disney Shopping and they sent me another one! ;) I've since lost it too...... :confused3

......actually, I have a teenage daughter that does not stay out of my stuff...I'm sure she lost it not me!

ears
pommes frites @ cafe orleans
fridge magnets
ride photos
mickey tees
fun candy

I'm a sucker for Photopass. It started out because I'm the family photographer, and I wanted photos of the whole family... with me in it!

Then I heard about the Photopass card, calculated that it wouldn't take long to get my money's worth out of a CD with all the photos on it, and the rest is history.

On my last trip I was alone with DS3, and just didn't have a hand free to hang onto him and also take photos, so we took a lot of Photopass photos. They came out great, and I was pleased to have them to remember our trip. :goodvibes

As for a food treat, I love, love, love the Dole Whip! No juice, please, just the ice cream! The perfect treat on a hot day. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I love steakhouse 55, oh and the million dreams glowtini! YUM!

Hold the phone! They have glowtinis at DLR?

I'm veggie, but I think I might have to run into that restaurant and snag a glowtini on this trip so I can take it off my things to do list for WDW. :)

Okay, what's a dole whip?

Don't ask me that...I'll point you to the list of ingredients and then you'll hate me.

I don't like them at all (melted pineapple-flavored plastic), and DS and DH do but can't have them because they haven't have corn syrup products.

I love the vegetarian gumbo in a breadbowl at Royal St Veranda!
The vegetarian chili in a breadbowl at Pacific Wharf Cafe in DCA!

I collect all the buttons they give you randomly, including the ones you get when you have a character meal.

My favorite snack is a chocolate chip cookie and warm latte, generally from the "permanent" ODV cart to the left of the castle. But that's silly to do b/c they don't take the AP discount, so I should just get my snack from Blue Ribbon Bakery or the bakery near the entrance to DCA.

We loved our breakfast at Cafe Orleans, the beignets there was so good.

The fritters at Royal St Veranda, with the dipping sauce are very good, too.

As for souvenirs...we bought DS an adorable pirate toy set with Mickey, Pete, Goofy, and Donald as pirates, and he plays with that most every day since we got it.

He also has keychain sized (big keychains) light up light sabers that he just adores. I am strict with age recommendations for toys, and all of the "real" lightsabers are aged "older" than DS is, but those keychains were the right age, and we love them. And their light effect is incredibly cool.

This is all I can think of right now..

oh man i totally forgot about the fritters...its been sooooooooooo long since I went over and got any...guess what im getting in 3 weeks?????

Maybe I'm just getting them from the wrong place? Where do you get yours?

then we are getting them at the same places....i have gotten mine at Candy Palace, Pooh Corner at DL and Greetings in DCA and they have always tasted the same...:sad2: besides is there anyplace else you can get them??? and i usually get them in the afternoon...wonder if that makes a difference...

Maybe I'm just getting them from the wrong place? Where do you get yours?

In DCA on in the big store on the left as you walk into the park nearest the Hollywood back lot. They have a little candy section in there. I usually got mine in the morning. I hope you luck out next time if you try them. Ive never had any bad one. I feel bad now that you didnt luck out.
