Just another random Sunday question. My favorite meal is home made soup and fresh baked bread with a big glass of milk. :cloud9: I think this comes from when I got sick when I was little and my grandmother always made me Lipton's chicken noodle soup. I associate soup with feeling safe and loved. Now my DH makes me soup whenever I've had a bad day. :lovestruc

So what's your very favorite meal and do you know why?

Sushi!! I just love the combination of flavors-vinegared rice, nori (seaweed), wasabi, fresh fish--Yum, nothing better. Very subtle flavors.

My favorite is a creation of my mom's - Beef Parmigiana. It's a family favorite, and super yummy :goodvibes Dad won't eat chicken, I won't eat veal, mom won't eat eggplant. And no one makes it as good as mom!

Ribs, potato salad and baked beans. I associate the meal with summer. I love summer it may season.

Eye of the Round Roast Beef, medium rare, coated with Lipton Onion Soup Mix, mashed potatoes with gravy and (usually but can't stomach it right now) brocolli with mayo.

Mine is along the same lines! I love going to my dad's house for dinner, he will make Eye of the Round (when it is on sale! if not then just roast beef), mashed potatoes, and broccoli casserole. I just got back from a week of Free Dining at WDW and as much as I loved the food I called my dad first thing this am to make sure he was making Sunday dinner!!

Beef stew, or homemade chicken and noodles.

Both are my Grandma's recipes that she used to fix. We always had each of them every other Wednesday, which was her day off. I can remember getting off the bus, and it being ready for us to eat:goodvibes

My two favorite meals are tacos and homemade mac and cheese. :lovestruc Both are very much comfort foods from when I was little.

I'm pretty easy (boring, if you ask my wife) and like most things simple. I can be very happy with a hot dog or good meat loaf. My true comfort food is a peanut butter sandwich. :upsidedow

Roasted Chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and green beans. This was the meal I always requested growing up. Mom made it the best.

Pot roast - the kind you cook till it falls apart, with potatoes and carrots, and gravy. :goodvibes

My perfect meal:
Chicken Satay
Spring Rolls
Pad Thai
Red or Green Curry
Jasmine Rice

I LOVE Thai food.

I love turkey dinner. No particular reason, but I just love all the sides that go with it. It's my favorite.

Me too. Nothing's better than a full-on Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the sides: stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes with brown sugar-pecan topping, cranberry jelly (it HAS to be the stuff from the can - weird, I know), some sort of yummy crisp-sweet veggie (usually green beans), and pumpkin pie for dessert.

My second favorite would have to be pot roast, cooked till it falls apart in cream of mushroom soup, with potatoes and carrots and a yummy crusty bread to sop up all the gravy.

This will gross most of you out and DH hates it so I never have it but its called Hamburg Pie and its my favorite!

Ground beef
tomato soup
mashed potatoes
green beans

Mixed together.

In the fall/winter, it is roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, roasted carrots, and whipped turnips with crispy shallots.

In the summer, it is good tomatoes with basil, and corn on the cob with butter and salt.

Spaghetti with meat sauce (lots of meat) :thumbsup2
Green salad with ranch dressing
Garlic bread

Not so much of a treat, because I have to cook it. I pretty much only like *mine*.

My MIL used to make this for DH but would put american cheese slices on top and broil. Called it GARP

Ultimate comfort foods:

my dad's chili (norwegian style, he used to call it...very very mild)
my dad's spaghetti
roast cooked all day, with carrots, boiled potatoes that are then browned under the broiler
thanksgiving dinner

I am almost 100% vegetarian these days....but I will SOOO break to eat any of these.
