I'm trying to get a list together of those little things that you just may not know about at WDW. IE: The hidden key under the mat at Muppets 3D. I LOVE hearing about all of these. Please share your favorite!

Oh no you dont! The last great secret I shared, here amoung my closest friends, is no longer a secret and thus not great anymore. I'm not sharin nothing! My lips aren't budgin!

Those little secrets are what make Disney so special. I'm not talking about anything that's going to ruin the magic. I'm talking along the line of Hidden Mickey's and such. You're secret must have been a good one.

Singin' in the Rain umbrella @ DHS.
wedding ring at HM
mr toad buried in pet cemetary of HM
theres a phone you can pick up and listen in on a party line but i can't remember if it's at DHS or MK, I think it's at MK

I'm not so sure these are secrets so much as added extras but I love how there is a page for Mr Tom Morrow (from the carousel of progress) in Tomorrowland and other similar extras. In HM the ghost host says "there are 999 happy haunts, but there are room for 1,000. Any takers?". It is little extras like these and hidden mickey's that I look forward to searching for on each visit.:goodvibes

It's in the MK at the Chapaue Shop (not sure of the spelling, but it's the Hat Shop right behind the candy shop), on the right at the beginning of Main Street. DD and I 'listened in' just last week.

DD also always looks under the mat for the key. And she was disappointed when she stood under the umbrella and the water didn't come on. :confused3

There is only one horse on Cinderella's Carousel that has a gold ribbon on its tail. This horse is supposedly Cinderella's! While we were waiting in line (it wasn't busy!) I asked the operator to point out the horse, he let us in first and put my DD on the horse. It's was so awesome! She was only 2 at the time and didn't fully understand but I have about 2 dozen pictures to show her when she is older!

Ok, I asked about this phone to two CM's in two different shops on Main Street this past May and they both looked at me like I was crazy:confused: I will def try again in October. Tell me exactly where it is again?? Thanks:)

Wow! I had no idea about the party line phone or about Cinderella's horse! This is a great thread!

Yes, I have to say that these little things are what makes Disney so magical to me. Here are a few that I discovered and took pictures of on our last trip...

When walking down Main Street, there is a little side street ( can't remember the name) to your right. Walk down and look to your upper left to find the window that says "Music and Dance Lessons" If you listen carefully, you can hear the classes going on...

On Winnie The Pooh, notice at the end of the ride a picture of Toad handing over over the deed to Owl. The ride was previously Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...

Near Fantasyland, find Cinderella's fountain. If you bend down just right, you'll see the crown on the mural behind the fountain fits perfectly on Cinderella's head!!!

I got a million of these! LOVE IT:lovestruc:lovestruc

:cool1:my boys are big Indiana Jones fans....so I got a kick out of this...on the left of the entrance to stunt show there is an abandoned dig site? and the sign says "don't not pull rope" well i kept telling boys to pull and they were afraid than I made them read sign again and they realized they should...well when you do there is a voice talking from down in the hole.......they thought mom was real cool that day

Looks like even Disney doesn't let the new CMs in on all the little secrets!

You're not crazy. I read about the phone somewhere and went 'hunting' it on my Spring Break trip. It's an old style phone from 1900 placed up on the wall. Be sure to listen to the whole tape from beginning to end (it repeats) as it's kind of funny. I remember having a 'party line' phone when I was a kid. I also remember listening in on my old neighbor lady's conversation about my new dog.

We usually go under the RIGHT train tunnel and past the Exposition Hall. Look ahead where the buildings start on the right side of Main Street. The Chapaue Shop (I'm not totally sure of the spelling, but it's a store which only sells hats and Mickey ears.) entrance is way to the right. Or...if you start down Main Street go into the very first shop (on the right hand side, they sell candy, fudge, etc), walk straight to the back of the store which turns into the hat shop. The phone is on the wall which is facing Exposition Hall (which would be the right).

Ha! Just keep going 'right' and you can't go wrong! Hope you find it. People walk by that phone all day and never think to pick up the earpiece and listen. They may even look at you strangly while you're doing it. One thing I've learned about Disney is to always pick something up and take a look or listen as you may be surprised as to what you find. ;) Another reason why we love Disney!:lovestruc

When we went for the kids' and hubby's first time in Feb the boys fell asleep in their stroller. So, DH and I got a snack and sat down outside between the building w/ the "music/dance school" and another one in a seating area. It was a nice relaxing spot and we listened to the "school" for a bit. It was nice to relax a bit.

Okay so on that ring at HM; I was told it was paved over. Is that true, or is it still there?

I am SO excited to hear that it's still there!!! I guess I was just looking in the wrong place, and asking the wrong CM's:rotfl: I will definitely look for it again in October. Thanks a bunch!!!

I'm glad you got to hear the dance lessons because even though I got a pic of the window, the sound effects weren't on :( I did see the speaker so I just used my imagination:rotfl2: I will look for that again on our next trip. Sounds like a nice quiet moment you and your DH had:love:

Ok, I don't know about the ring in HS. What is this about??

For those of you who play chess, the turrets on the roof of Haunted Mansion are chess pieces or parts of chess pieces.

Although the Main St. Cinema was turned into a gift shop many years ago, there is still a small air conditioned theater where some old Disney cartoons including Steamboat Willie are shown. It's in Exhibition Hall; follow some corridors inside around in back.

This one I'm told is not supposed to be that way and it comes and goes (is made up and taken down periodically). Before you enter the library (pre-show) for Tower of Terror, look inside the glassed in sign with white lettering; there may be a message spelled out using letters that "fell down inside".

Another that is not supposed to be that way; in Haunted Mansion, when you come to the dining room with the ghosts dancing, see if one of the place settings is arranged as a Mickey head.
