OKW, 230 pts for $32.61 pp in 2024 and AKL for $50pp in 2025 (seller pd all dues and closing costs as well.) So it was $10,000 exactly for a 200pt contract

I think when you talk about great deals you have to look at year specific. 32pp for OKW means something very different in 1996 as it does in 2000 as it does in 2024.

Through a roundabout way I ended up with 150 BCV points for net effective $80 in 2023. It would be interesting to see a chart showing the data of average resales since resort inception.

Geez prices have jumped a lot in two short years!

Not as much as you'd think. There was heavy incentives and discounts at that time, Magical Beginnings was also more -$22.

I'll also share my "Claim to Shame" contract. In 2022 (exactly a year before the above) I bought a 200 point resale AKL for $136. It was the height of what was called the ROFR massacre/bloodbath. Since then, ROFR barely exists and the prices of resale has dropped significantly. If I was still paying on the resale contract, I'd be deeply upside down.

So my hubby did the math on our 4 contracts at AKL, OKW, SSR, and BCV. He considered buy in costs plus yearly maintenance fees along with lenght of time on our contract. In order from cheapest to most expensive is AKL, OKW, SSR, and BCV.. We have owned BCV the longest but costs so much more than the others even with higher dues at AKL and OKW. We still scratch our head as to how DVC did not ROFR the OKW or AKL contracts.

Where's that user that got an OKW for like 35pp. Now THAT'S a steal!

Wasn't that like a 3000 point contract? I believe it was listed on TUG for sale within 3-4 months. I don't know if it sold.

I don't think so but you have to ask @Redheadprincess I vaguely remember her saying she found it on some obscure website. Not sure.

My ‘Claim to Fame’ contracts are not necessarily about price but rather size - Beach Club direct for $120. PP - a 15 and a 17 point contract - bought when DVC couldn’t break up contracts and the minimum was 25. I had to get some serious high level of approval for those 2 contracts.
