We just became members in Jan 2024 so I can't compete with these deals lol. However, I am pretty happy with the latest resale contract we bough in Nov 2024:

VGF - 65 pts - full 24/25/26 points for $163/point. Seller paid 24 MF. It's a December UY so our 2024 year had just started by the time points were loaded. We used the points to book a 1 bedroom at VGF to celebrate our son's 1st birthday coming up later this year!

Yeah these old school deals are crazy amazing. I should edit mine to add *within the last year

2017 SS 50pt resale loaded. $50pt. Seemed good to me, but I really had no clue what I was doing, back then. (not much is diff now, but I have learned more.lol) But I was smart enough to buy direct that next winter, 25 AUL to get the dvc-y, before all the really big stuff was tossed down. Seems like we just made it when we signed the contracts. Fortunately, direct was quicker.

As much as it pains me to write it about it, here it goes. Did an add-on to our membership. Purchased 200 pts in (4) 50 point contracts at the opening sale of VGC in April, 2009. Paid $105 pp after developer credit…and received the following;

1) 3 night stay at the Grand Californian Hotel in any view category including 3 use when and where you want to fast passes per person on the reservation

2) 2 night stay at the Fairmont in SFO in any view category (Hotel Del Coronado was the other option)

3) 2 WDW AP’s (DL AP’s were the other option)

4) Voucher good for a year for a week stay through available properties through RCI (no recollection if we used that or gave it away)

Life happened…kid’s colleges and weddings…we sold all of them in 2016-2017. The only good news is we sold for around $130pp…but we all know what that amount would likely be today. If I had a dollar for every time I wished I still had those contracts, I’d be a millionaire. But hindsight is 20/20.

Maybe I should’ve started my own thread about DVC regrets!

I have a couple good ones over the years.

Probably my best is the 50 points I bought direct at VGC in 2010. No real incentives at that level and I believe it was around $110 per point, but worth oh so much more. I bought 50 more VGC points in 2017 (or maybe 2018) for around $150. I thought it was a smidge high, but it still have only just gone up so I am ok about it in hindsight.

My original points in 2007 were SSR. I believe with incentives they were $86 per point. I know we got 2 WDW APs included in the deal, but I am forgetting what else may have also been included at that time.

Absolutely! At the same time, resale prices have dropped considerably. I decided to go resale as I couldn’t justify the difference in price. If direct was still close to $150 (rather than $215), I probably would have gone direct!

Not sure that it’s really a “claim to fame” status contract, but I bought a 50 pt AKV contract for $100/pt, and then when it closed it came with 50 free points in holding that they hadn’t mentioned. So that was pretty cool.

Original BLT buyer in 2009( I believe it was). Price was around 100 pp but it came with a 4 night Disney cruise . We sailed the wonder later that year for free. Disney won because we will be platinum after our next cruise that’s of course, booked!

OKW, 230 pts for $32.61 pp in 2024 and AKL for $50pp in 2025 (seller pd all dues and closing costs as well.) So it was $10,000 exactly for a 200pt contract

I'm still a newbie in the DVC world, but my contract claim to fame is my VGF contract purchased during the infamous fire sale. We got an additional $ off for military, and after selling out points back for MB it worked out to $156/pt for 150 pts. I regret somewhat selling the points ...and absolutely regret not buying more!
