What's with week of 10/17-10/20?

I copied this from an update from Mousesavers.com:

The BAP promo states that the discount is not available for check-ins 10/17/04-10/20/04, 11/1/04-11/13/04 and 11/23/04-11/27/04, but some people have succeeded in getting the discount for some of those dates.

Is there something going on the week of 10/17 to 10/20 I don't know about? We are going to be there that week. Did I miscalculate a holiday or something?

I guess it's too late for me to worry about it. I'm leaving in 10 days 10 hours !!

I just made reservations about 10 days ago and got a Annual P*******r discount rate of $33 plus tax (33.?? full hookup), arriving 10/17 departing 10/22. Call them back and try it again. Tell them others got the discount and you were wondering if any pass holder sites had opened up and please change your rate. If they say no, ask about a AAA rate if you are a member. And then keep trying each day, I think you will be surprised. Another option that might work if you are coming down I-75 during the operating hours of the Disney Information Center in Ocala, stop in and ask them about the rates they have available and can they help you on your reservation. The last I read, was that there were lots of vacant sites after the storms.

I guess I was unclear at to what I was asking. I already got AP rates for Pop Century of $79. We are only staying 1 night then check into Beach Club Villas.

I was asking about that week thinking it was a special week and that's why they had no discounts available. I am, as always kind of afraid of crowds. I really want this to be a special week because we are taking my mother-in-law for her first time at Disney. A Disney Virgin!

The only thing I know of is the Funai Golf Classic. That is at one of the courses near the MK, so many of the MK resorts are booked up.

With that being said, we moved from WL to PO-FQ because the AP rates at WL were nearly impossible to get, while we got the full stay discounted at PO-FQ.

I'm not sure how the golf tournament will affect crowds, if at all. I'm not too worried about it.

BTW Kendallkat2, looks like we're leaving at the same time! Have a great trip.
