Hello again all,

Been reading the trip reports and the majority of the forum posts in anticipation of my trip to DLP in a few months; but recently ive noticed the general mood of the posts are a bit more disappointed at their experience in the park when compared with previous trips.

One of the most consistent complaints is the fact that a lot of the restaurants are now closed. Obviously something to do with cost, with the places that are making the least amount of profit not open.
But that being said DLP is famed for its extremely high food prices so it would surprise me a great deal if everywhere wasnt making a solid profit; obviously with a captive market you can charge whatever you want. But, with closing places in an attempt to funnel people into certain restaurants, arent you just encouraging them to bring their own food or go into the Disney Village to eat there?

Which restaurants are closed? Is it all the time? Im trying to plan, and obviously no point planning to eat somewhere that wont be open!

I'd plan and book table service restaurants. With the exception of the Silver Spur, which was closed last week as part of a scheduled refurb, all the table service restaurants in both parks, the Village, and the onsite resort hotels, were open.

Its most of the counter service restaurants in both parks which are closed midweek (more are open on the weekends). I believe this is only up to the end of this month though, as from the beginning of July DLP is into its high summer season, so they take on more staff to cover the high season period.

Hello

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Disneyland Hotel. We always pre-book both park and hotel retaurants for the length of our stay. This time we could only book the Disneyland Hotel retaurants as the other hotels only had the buffet service open. Not being a lover of buffet meals we were very dissapointed as the Silver Spur was also closed. We did dine at the Blue Lagoon but this was very busy.

We have given Walts a miss because of the poor service we have received from the staff the last two times we have used this restaurant.

The fast food outlets were nearly all closed.

We are a party of adults so places like Cafe Micky are not ideal for us.This closure strategy must have cost Disney a lot of money - for the first time ever we took money home.

Not atm unfortunately :sad2: People today report the same situation as what we've all seen the last week/fornight/month

It better get better from the 7th or else they are really going to have pbs

we did have more restaurants open on Sunday, just 2 weeks ago - we had Hakuna Matata, Colonel Hathis and Toad Hall.

The thing I noticed when we were there last week was that counter service restaurants would be open one day, then closed the next, but you had no way of knowing which it would be until you got there. It made planning lunches rather difficult, as you'd get your heart set on going to say, Colonel Haitis, and then find it was closed when you got there (as was Pizzeria Bella Notte, thereby robbing me of both bolognaise pasta options in the park!) despite seeing it open the day before.

Also, some restaurants opened and closed at weird times (e.g. open for lunch, but then shut at 3pm when the park was open till 11pm). But the sign on the door just said "Ferme" and you had no idea whether it was temporarily closed and would open later, had been open and was now closed, or was closed all day. I swear they used to put hours on the doors before, like they do for the rides that are only open part time.
