What's up with Tower of Terror this week?

Fast passes have mostly been turned off-today we were delayed at the gate as card readers were taking forever to display photos with tickets, and walked up to ToT just as they turned FP machines off. Guy said they'd come back up when ride working, but ride is running. Argh! So now in a 40 min line as last day of our trip and can't miss...

When ToT runs at significantly less capacity, i.e. multiple elevators not up and running, they have a tendency to turn off the fastpass machines. They were turned on only occasionally when we visited June 27 - July 4.

Same thing on July 14. They were running at reduced capacity and turned off the FP machines in the early PM.

Why are they running at reduce capacity?

It seems there was an incident with one of the shafts a couple weeks ago. That shaft has been down since then.

When we were there early July the wait with our FP was 40 minutes! Without a FP it reached 90. It was crazy but it was my first time on the ride, and I was finally ready to try it, so we waited. Talk about an adrenaline rush!

Last Friday they were out of Fastpasses for the day by 11:05 AM. Odd, because RSR had fast passes until noon that day...
