Cruising Disney is getting to be a challenge.....It is no wonder I have booked our next adventure a year and half ahead.:( I was on Yahoo travel this morning just checking out some of the prices and I could not believe it?????
Prices seem so high and tons of SOLD OUT lower cat rooms on several 3 and 4 day cruises even into October!! Prices for Fall even seem higher than what I had paid in the past.

Is it just me or Is Disney just increasing in popularity like crazy here lately!! It is a great cruise...Maybe I should quit telling people how great it is!! Since I have went so has my neighbors, cousins and best friend! ;) Just kidding. Glad I booked early.

I hope Disney does come out with a new ship soon!!!!::yes::

I know when I booked my Land/Sea Cruise for December 16 in February all but the category 12s were left. As of April 28, our cruise was sold out. That's pretty quick.

A week or so ago, a DVCer mentioned that all cruises on points were booked through October. I feel lucky that we were able to get the Nov. sailing on points. I know we've been trying for awhile to work a Disney cruise into our schedule.

Wow! I feel lucky then. I booked just last week on points for mid October cruise for 3 nights. We did it "on a whim" since we'll be down at WDW and thought a cruise over the weekend would be better than a weekend jaunt to USO. we haven't told the kids yet though. It was difficult getting what I wanted though. We thought about booking on cash. Only one TA could get me the Cat 9 that we wanted. The rest were Cat 8s. And the price was anywhere from $3300- over $7000 for the SAME thing. I was amazed that the price could differ so much. Supply and demand I guess. Seems the one TA had held the last remaining Cat 9s for us. But later we ended up using our DVC points because we didn't want to use cash up front. Anyhow I was surprised that there were no connecting rooms left 5 months out. Book early!!!!!

Babyjosie98, While on our May 8th Western cruise, my wife and I were looking into the Disney Vacation Club and the sales rep told us that after the summer season the rates for ALL Disney cruises will be going up in price aproximately 15%. That will probably price us out of considering another cruise for at least a couple of years, maybe longer. While the cruise was one great time, to drop so much money for one week is starting to not make sense to me. Heck, we could go to a moderate resort in WDW and get park passes for over two weeks for what a cruise will cost next year. Is Disney raising the price 15% because of their costs or is it simply because they can fill the ships at any price? Me thinks it is the latter.

BABYJOSIE98 - I know exactly what you're saying. BUT, if you are looking at October 2004, the Wonder will be in drydock for a couple weeks so numerous dates will not show up. Also, it seems that the Magic will be in drydock next October 05, as well. Plus the Magic has been chartered for a week this coming October. Many missing dates in October for some reason or another. :(

DCL is only going to get more and more popular. It is the greatest experience of our lives. That is why we have started booking our cruises while we are still cruising! They usually have good deals to get you to sign up onboard.

So then the Magic must be drydocked the 2 weeks before our cruise in 10-15-05.......So we must be going to have one sparkling ship for our cruise!!!!!:cloud9: :boat:

The poor people already booked on the other two though??? I have planned this around DD's end of 1st quarter so she will only miss 3 days of school. I don't know what I would do.

Another thread said people will be getting calls and they will offer any non Holiday week to rebook for the same price. So I guess summer may be an option when normally it would not be. Prices are crazy in the summer months......

So the dry dock of the Wonder this October explains the missing dates....... crazy!!

I know the Wonder was so much fun and I am really looking forward to sailing on the MAGIC!:sunny:

The October 28th sailing was also chartered just a few weeks ago, and all of us already booked were bumped off. The CM who helped us told us that almost all the surrounding 3-day cruises were full due to existing passengers and rebookings and many of the 4-day cruises were approaching capacity as some people were moved to those as well (we were). Between that and the already planned drydock, it doesn't surprise me that this October is more full than normal.
