Whats up with the cover of the new eddition of DISNEY FILES?

Just received my copy today, but whats up with that cover? How much was someone paid to come up with that idea. May be its just me, but i don't get it. I know this is petty whining, but I can't help it.

I know, I know, not even a hidden Mickey. It obvious they are not trying to sell the magazine based on the cover. Sometimes I wonder about the editor of that magazine. Doesn't anyone higher up ever review the magazine before it's published?

I also can't stand all the 'attempts' at humor he has written into his piece.

Yah, me too! Almost every other sentence has something in brackets with some witty attempt at humour. I mean once or twice is nice, but it's all over the place. I feel like I'm reading an issue of "Teen Beat" or something!

I think Disney Files has completely lost touch with it's audience. But then I have felt that way ever since it became Disney Files.

I also did not like the cover art at all. It doesn't make me feel all happy like the covers usually do....to dark and depressing.

Well..I got Backstage Pass (first time that's ever come in the mail) but not Disney Files...:: sigh:: I kind of like the editior little light thing..doesn't bother me at all..but now I really need to see this awful cover.

Not only is the publication not in touch with the membership, it's a terrible piece of brand management. It continues to astonish me that this is in any way associated with the Disney brand.

Looks to me like someone zoomed into the wrong part of the picture and sent it to be printed without looking. Very Strange. BUt i guess it got people talking and paying attention to it. Perhaps that was the goal???

Fire and brimstone are not at all magical. I'm glad someone else created a thread about this. I started to open a thread about it myself. I was so "heated" when I saw that cover (I know ),. Just what does the apocalypse have to do with DVC?

I just showed it to my DH. And he immediatly said, well, thats obviously to promote Hawaii!! I looked at it forever and couldn't figure out what it was.
